1. I can't understand why we haven't seen some sort of Tebow/Wildcat formations. The 4th down at the goal would've been a perfect place to use it and if we showed it, even just once as false propaganda, defensive coordinators would be forced to dedicate some meeting and practice time to it, leaving less time to prepare for other facets of our game plan.
2. Coaches get too much credit for being masterminds and geniuses, and once they get a reputation, they go out of their way to live up to it. Shannahan- RB guru:he got lucky because Kubiak talked him into T.Davis, but if the scouts and coaches were so positive of his abilities T.D. woulda been picked long before the 6th round. Ditto for Belichek and Tom Brady. Drew Bledsoe got injured and Brady got a shot. If that draft Brady was in was held over he'd go 1 overall not in the 5th round. (i think) I mean Belichek already had the guy and couldn't figure out he was better than his hand picked starter. (sound familiar?) Plus Belichek gets pub for draft manuvering, but how have all those extra picks turned out? It seems more veteren playes make impacts than the young guys, but there is time.
3. I like Kyle mOrton, but only because i accept what he is; a good but not great game manager. I should quantify this better, I like Kyle mO if he has Adrian Peterson or a to 5 rushing attack. But even if I have him with a top 5 rushing attack, id be looking to upgrade the QB position.
4.If i were a coach, at any level, id make my punt team play straight and not try to block the kick with EVERYONE but the returner. I'd have one or two guys playing a watcher/safety position to keep fakes and mishaps from occuring like twice this year already and a bunch last year. I mean what is the ratio of blocked punts to successful punts? I can't remember the last punt the BRONCOS blocked, but i can recall several fakes and mishaps that should not have worked over the past few seasons. At least have a code word to yell if its a fake or bad snap so all our defenders dont turn and run downfield to set up blocks. Ensuring we get possession should be priority one. Not the blocking of the kick or blocking for the returner. Think what would happen if the punter passed to the guy out wide. Our covermen/gunner is probably gonna start the handfighting/blocking position battle, which would be a PI call if they weren't very aware.
5. Lastly, if i were our coach, I'd make all my recievers reach for the ball on every pass route no matter if the ball is there or not. Too many DB's react to a player reaching for a catch. we could get PI penalties from guys tackling away from the pass play. I can't understand for the life of me why teams don't coach that. It's the same thing as having the QB roll out after handing the ball off; something to make the defenders pause and think or react too qucikly and make a mistake. Imagine if you combined a pump fake with the fake catch motion, and a double move. Nightmares for DB's.
