REALLY? Captain Checkdown Gives Us the Best Chance to Win.

Stay connected for news and updates

I have been mostly silent, but I can't be any more. I am so sick and tired of anyone claiming that Kyle Orton, aka Captain Checkdown, gives us the best chance of winning. Based on what? His 6-19 record in his last 25 games? His great practice throws? His happy feet? His checkdowns and underneath throws? There is no evidence that KO gives us the best chance to win. Zero. Zip. Nada. I am a lawyer, but I can't find anything to prove this by the preponderance of the evidence let alone beyond a reasonable doubt. I don't believe even John Fox believes it to be true. Where is the confidence to put the ball in KOs hands to win the game. Instead, we run it up the gut 3 times in a row. New regime, better defense and run game -- same Captain Checkdown.

Even though I didn't do it because of the team's performance, I am glad I have sold all my season tickets for the rest of the year (I did make it to the Bungles game). Until Captain Checkdown is replaced, we have no hope and I would lose my shorts if I kept them. My preference is Tim Tebow, but I would take Brady Quinn at this point. Tebow makes more sense because I think he would energize the fan base and more importantly it would give EFX the ability to know what they need to do in next year's draft. To tank this season and not learn if Tebow is your QB of the future is terrible management. I think Tebow gives us the best chance to win now and in the future. He will also make the games more interesting to watch as he proves all the naysayers wrong.

Captain Checkdown's drop fumble against the Raiders and his earhole interception to end the game yesterday are simply inexcusable and prove KO does not give us the best chance to win. EFX please give us something to root for and make a switch at QB. At this point either BQ or TT give us a better chance win now, but more importantly playing Tebow can give us hope for the future.

Go Broncos.
