I am a Bronco fan that hates the idea of seeing #8 Kyle Orton behind center. Despite his great practice performance and lack of a solid o line of complimentary running game he still will never be clutch or lead come back victories (example Tebows win over the Texans last year). Orton is now 6-19 since 2009 week 7 and has completely regressed without McDaniels.
At the same time I think we need to develop 15 and wait for him to be fully comfortable with his coaches and team and specifically playbook. I know this idea is against most but i am for sitting Tebow this entire season and letting him grow and totally hand the reigns off to him next offseason to control the team. Elway said it the other day and i actually agreed surprisingly. That he feels Tim is a very very very good football PLAYER but Qb's succeed much more in the league by allowing development and total comfort ability. He went on to say that a lot of qbs bust because they are just thrown into the mix. Well first off Elway i am pretty sure thats how you grew into the qb u were and why cannot you just say Tim is a great qb and put some god damn faith into this kid. He clearly wants to be loved and treated as the qb of the future and i dont think he can trust this organization with the kind of faith they have shown.
But anyways, why are Broncos fans ready to give up on this guy. Everyone is trying to speed up this rebuilding process week by week and its ridiculous. Nobody said it was easy but this team was bad last year really bad. "Lets see what tebow has so if he sucks we can move on". Really you wanna asses a qb after possibly 8 games and call if hes the qb of the future or not. Give me a break if we did that with Elway he woulda been out in a minute. I hate to tell you this but rebuilding sucks, its a process give Tebow some time. I really dont think any of you believe in this guy totally and fall into the MSM trap. Listen to any player or coach of this game, Joe Montana, Jon Gruden, Mike Ditka,,,etc...these guys all have nothing but positives for this guy. Its Kiper, McShay, and ex players with no credentials (Merril Hodge, Trent Diler( orton of the 90's). Tebow dominated the SEC, the best football conference in college football especially on the defensive side of the ball. Dominated...Here's a refresher in case your looking for Luck and Landry Jones.
- 2× SEC Championship (2006, 2008)
- 2× BCS National Championship (2007, 2009)
- 2× First-team All-American (2007, 2008)
- 1× Second-team All-American (2009)
- 3× First-team All-SEC (2007, 2008, 2009)
- AP Player of the Year (2007)
- Davey O'Brien Award (2007)
- 2× Maxwell Award (2007, 2008)
- Heisman Trophy (2007)
- NCAA QB of the Year (2007)
- Manning Award (2008)
- William V. Campbell Trophy (2009)
I am not even mentioning all the sec offensive records he shattered. And i know NFL is a totally different game. All i want to say is lets sit this guy this season and hand him the starting qb job fully prepared next year. I wanna draft a Tackle CB and RB early. Move Franklin inside and have a solid bookend right tackle that Tebow needs and a 3 down back with good power. I think by that point we will have a defense and weapons and a solid line around our future.
BTW for now I am in total favor of starting Brady Quinn....just saying.
