Try to picture this for a moment. Instead of Broncos orange and blue, what if Orlando Franklin were wearing the Avalanches burgundy and blue? Instead of a massive pair of cleats, Franklin moved his 6-foot-7, 330-pound body on a pair of skates?

What would you rather be?
Cut yesterday with your agent trying to hook you up with another team, or make the 53 roster as a placeholder, hoping and praying you don’t get cut this week as the Broncos screen the waiver wire?

Interesting
After they released Gurode. Even with Holland and Gurode they were going to be starting two rookie OL’s.

Carolina claims ex-Ram DL George Selvie, CB Josh Thomas
Bengals claim Brandon Tate, Buffalo claims TE Lee Smith.
Where are the Broncos’ claims?
they haven't been "officially" released
so if the Broncos want to keep their mouths shut about it, they can.
I’m sure they want to tell the players that get waived personally, etc.

Perrish Cox is now a foregone conclusion to a bumpy year of unknowns.
Cox became the starter at #2 when Andre Goodman went down to injury in 2010 with better than average play. I can’t help but think that Cox’ legal problems some how or another have something to do with his lack of performance in camp and pre-season. Thinking back when the incident occured I remember reading that Demaryius Thomas left the apartment to go home and rest before practice the next morning and Cassius vaughn leaving before 6am noticing a sprawleed out women on an air mattress and Cox passed out in bed. If Cox felt any entitlement to his #2 position affected his training and work in camp then Cox will never make an NFL player worth having. Cox clearly has to get his mind right before he can move on. I hope he does.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say this the Broncos can win 10-12 games with Kyle Orton. That was a mouthful of hard words to get out. Where the Broncos can be successful lie in a couple of areas of positions. First of all, the defense, especially the front line has to stay healthy to make a run at the division title and it will be a tall task to keep the starting DEs healthy and injury free for an entire season of play. Dumervil, Ayers and Von Miller will be the catalyst to the defenses successes or failures. They go down and the next man terminology falls off dramatically, where failure will raise it’s ugly head.
I don’t worry so much about our veteran CBs position with Goodman and Champ as they will play their roles with success. I do worry about our depth there and hope they can find one or 2 in the coming weeks. With a solid pass rush the DBs job will be a little easier and should come up with some big plays.
Kyle Orton get’s to start off the season with a clean slate and a healthy OLine with a year of familiararity and continuity with an addition of a monster on the right edge. Kyle now has a solid running game to use with is play action pass and with Demaryius Thomas coming back early the weapons are looking pretty good. Moreno and McGahee have to stay healthy to give our offense a chance to score in the red zone. Without them the task will be hard.
I love how John Fox was smart enough to keep the McCoy and the playbook intact, that is very critical in a teams success, where players are familiar and progressing in their development. I also love the fact that Fox changed the defensive scheme to a faster more physical group of players building around an integral piece in Elvis Dumervil.
If the Denver Broncos win 10-12 games this year it won’t be because of luck or misfortunes by our opponents, it will be because John Elway, Brian Zanders and John Fox have out a lot of heart and soul into something they love…The Broncos!
