Only a true idiot would think that a 4-12 team with a new coach and a shortened off season could be in contention for the first over all pick. He clearly knows absolutely nothing about anything.

He should check the game film, though. This is a totally different team, but it's not like you can just assume that they'll be terrible.

that’s why he’s “some guy over at Gang Green.” Hard to predict anything right now, and I would say that about any team. How would you predict the Colts, or Redskins? Without Manning for a while, are the Colts in the Luck Sweepstakes? Even if he comes back this year, could Manning take a hit from Harrison? Or Super Mario? Stand by, sports fans. The sit will fit the shans. The “experts” are coming out of the woodwork………

Well, yeah, but...

Putting down Fox for switching to a 4-3 because Tomlin didn’t in Pittsburgh? Steelers had an established 3-4 and Dick Lebeau as DC, while Fox inherited an aborted switch from 4-3 to 3-4 that had to become a 5-2 last year.
And there is no reason to opine that Lloyd was a one year wonder.
And without McD Orton is going to turn into a pumpkin? What about McCoy? And so forth.
I’ve done previews of all 32 teams several times in the past, and I know how hard it is to really do a good job. Too much information out there, and too little time to assimilate and then create.
But John B did a pretty lousy job on this one.

My biggest beef was how he put down Doom and Miller

He said they were our best two pass rushers like they couldn’t get past a cockroach to sack a fly. He obviously didn’t even watch our highlights this preseason.

if he missed the whole season. My guess is he'll only miss a few games. Now if he has to have surgery again then who knows.

I can’t see them winning more than 5 games without Manning though.

From his point of view

he only knows about our record last year, where he thinks Von and Doom can “fit” in our D, and our “QB controversy,” to no fault of his own. What he doesn’t know is that nearly all of our draft picks will be enormous upgrades and we are returning a lot of talent from injury. We also kept a majority of the offensive staff, so the “not buying this O without MCD” is a little misguided.

Now, what we have to remember is a lot of teams that will be bottom feeders likely say similar things to what we say (I remember every Panther fan predicting “at least 8-8” this time last year), so calling him an “idiot” just reinforces what he believes.

I think this is more likely than a playoff appearance.

We need a lot to go right to have a decent season, and just a few things go wrong and last year could repeat itself.

Its fun to banter about, but...

ultimately, we have NO idea how the season will end up, so most of this stuff is inconsequential. Fun, but no more than internet fodder. It should be really fun this year, unless we have a repeat of last year, in which we can start programming our Xboxes and PS3’s with Andrew Luck.

Jets fans talkin smack....

I can’t wait to see their season unfold. They should be praising the Bills and Broncos for letting their team into the playoffs last year. Buffalo is just play terrible against NYJ… and I’ve watched our game against them a bunch of times. We GAVE that victory away. Not as bad as the gift Indy gave them back in 2009, but a gift none the less.

3-4 4-3… I don’t really see the monumental difference. Teams that run a 3-4 bring a 4th lineman on the field all the time. (This guy must be too scared to watch Pats/Jets games. Bill Bel does it a lot.) 4-3 teams drop a DT too (thats where we get that 5-2 look from) Hell some teams drop all but 1 DLman… (In Madden I think they call it Psycho)

Anyway… I hope the Jets are undefeated on Nov. 16.. then I’m going to send this guy an email on the 18th after we smack them up on Thursday night football.
