Bowlen has wisely changed the guard, and I believe Elway will make a fine executive in time. Hopefully he takes the finer points of Ellis, and evolves. Ellis is NOT a great executive but has many good character traits. Such as accountability when he stated "I should of never given Josh that much responsibility that's my fault."
Elway has made his first miscalculation when he stated "winning more games will win the fans over". Uh - no it won't ask your ex-buddy Shanny. This is not Cleveland, Cincy or Buffalo where going 4-12 is common place and making the playoffs is a big deal. We just had a highest pick in franchise history. This is a complete abomination from the fans perspective. And going between 5-11 to 8-8 with Orton is not going to win anyone over. We've had years of mediocrity and NOTHING but the path toward SB is going to win fans over.
Does Elway believe his presence will make mediocrity palatable? There is a highly touted John Elway show - but what about the Kyle Orton show? John your legacy as a player is sealed, you legacy as an executive has just begun. Fans want hope, built on a vision that few posses. Does that vision include Orton who will be a FA after this season? Everyone knows the answer. I'm not a Tebow apologist, but I know a lack of vision when I see one. This time next season barring any QB injury or complete debacle, Broncomania will be wondering if Tebow is that guy? Why did we wait another season to find out. Whether he can become that guy is simply unknown, but we all know Orton and Brady are not the guys and both will very likely be gone. ESPN rated their QB's - Orton was #20.

We need a vision John, that can't be given by a coach, your owner, or anyone else on the staff. Your holding the chess pieces, you have be given that responsibility. Don't build on it safe moves, build it on passion, hope, and courage. That's what's going to get Broncomania back. The pieces are moving with or without you. It's just this simple - its third and long, and we need you to make a play. We know your best at that, don't stop believing it just because your not on the field. Rifle the ball and make a play, don't stand in the pocket waiting.
Right now your waiting to see if Orton can operate the run oriented offense under Fox. If Orton can win you more games and proudly be 7-9. Stop waiting John, make a play. The honeymoon will not last beyond mid-season.
