I never expected the playoffs at the start of the season, certainly not at 1-4. Why so disappointed? How about some reasonable expectations during a playoff season? How aboutn looking at what we improved?
You know what??? I am disappointed in MHR…again…..same old thing every year. Perhaps I need an offseason also.

Boy better learn ot pass in the offseason
if he wants a job next year..
2 things
1. Tebow passes much better out spread empty set. No RB’s. Challenge the depth of theri DB’s
2. No screens? Tebow is an excellent screen passer. Thats a big reason for his early success imo.
Tebow has struggled today no doubt.
I had no idea John Fox was this bad of a coach. This big of a sissy. We’ll never be a good NFL team with this kind of coach. This guy just ruined himself for me with his game plan in the 2nd half. What a joke.
Tim Tebow is Denver's 2012 starting QB. I'm not even kind of sorry that offends some of you (including you Elway).
He’s not calling the plays. The defense has improved immensely because of Fox and Allen. We have lots of problems on offense, but it starts with play calling.

One play was when the Chiefs had McGahee stopped in the backfield and then he broke out for a 5 yard gain, when they showed the replay one of your o-line guys was holding. That’s just one of many i saw during the game that should’ve been called, but I guess that’s just me being biased.

perhaps you should evaluate whether it is really a good idea to be over “live” here when KC and Denver play. Lots of opportunity for emotions to fire up.
To me this is just like having a friend over that likes the other team.
Stuff is going to be said and no calls will happen to both teams, if people would only step back from the Rivalry B.S and look at things from both side of the ball. I know MHR can be that way, and like I said a long time ago, I want to change that about sports blogs. I’ve got the balls to come here and listen to people talk shit about my team while still trying to not lose control. All I want in return is a unbiased view, that’s it. The two timeouts on the Chiefs second to last drive were unnecessary and poor coaching
To then punt on 4th and 7 with 2 and a half minutes left is criminal. The very best you can hope for (what we got) is the ball in our own redzone with a minute left.

Tebow...
is less than worthless as a QB. He can’t.wont throw the ball an dhas no accuracy when he does. The D gave them a chance, but TEBOW simply does not measure up to the task., Denver needs to draft and sdevelop a QB.
The playcalling needs to benefit his growth as a pocket passer, but it doesn’t.
Long outs and seams in lieu of slants and screens to get into a rhythm, only hurt is ability to grow as a passer. He’s a better passer out of the pocket (mostly), but if they want him to develop, they have to give him some easy dinks and dunks to get things rolling.
I actually agree with this
I’m tired of every pass play being a three step drop, hopeless look downfield, scramble every which way before throwing a lame duck offbalance

I dont think anyone is writing Tebow off, but you still have to do it.

Please, watch the replays one more time.
Willis had moved nicely to put his body between the ball and the defender, the hand from the defender really did not push the ball out or hit it. Willis had his hands slightly crossed, especially the right hand, so was not positioned to catch it, and then closed them slightly early. Willis then goes to the ground already putting his hands on his helmet as a gesture of frustration with himself. I would not cut the kid for it, but I believe even Willis would say it was on himself.
Yes Tebow had a bad game
the entire offense had a bad game, outside of McGahee. Wr’s had no seperation, OL didnt give Tebow much time, Tebow wasnt good seemed hesitant after last week, coaching was terrible

Isn’t that the entire point? Tebow hasn’t done shit during the streak but tried his best to play as bad as possible at QB.
All the while Orton is playing for an entirely new team. Who looked more comfortable leading the Broncos, Orton last year or Tebow this year?
by The Licensed Pessimist on Jan 1, 2012 5:37 PM MST up reply actions
Tebow is a second year player without a full preseason due to the lockout
Kyle Orton is an experienced veteran quarterback. Of course he looks more comfortable than Tebow.
But despite how bad Tebow has looked at times he has shown tremendous leadership and will to win. In a close game with Tebow at the healm I never believed that we were out of the game when I always felt that way with Orton at QB. Tebow provides an X factor that Orton never had. Maybe time will show that Tebow isn’t the answer. Despite this I’d sooner try Tebow than Orton because Orton has proved to me that he will never be the answer.

Bradford, McCoy, Sanchez, Freeman. Flacco and Ryan started slowly as well. Ponder has not looked good this year, except against us.

Ponder?
Then why are people asking questions about whether Webb should be the starting QB in Minnesota? Not to mention that he was more of a pocket passer to start with. Dalton has looked good but then he’s another pocket passer. The only comparison that is fair is Cam Newton and his arm is far better than Tebows and his throwing action needed far less work. You also have to remember that Tebow was always going to be a work in progress due to his throwing motion and run first style at college.
Anyway I’m not comparing Tebow to those QBs. I’m comparing him to Orton who is still merely average after several years in the league. We already know his ceiling, not very high. Tebow could be capable of much more than that. Only time will tell. I at least think that we ought to find out what he is capable of.

Safeties seemed to step up today, maybe Von Miller can somehow get that cast thinner for the playoffs.

KO was not responsible for the loss today....
Our D gave up one big run for a TD and that was it……
Fox played like a neutered pup and punted before half, and then Tebow took a sack to push us out of FG range in the 2nd half. 6 potential points right there.
KO did what he did for us. A little bit of nothing.
Go-Go Gadget Tebow!!!!
Kyle tried his best to loose this game too...
But the Donkos would have nothing to do with it.

maybe let Tebow be Tebow?
Over the past few weeks it’s obvious he is trying to become more of a passing QB and stay in the pocket longer…….with bad results.
Hopefully the coaching staff abandons that for this year (revisit next season) and tells Tebow “If you feel just even a tiny bit antsy, just RUN it, RUN Forrest Run! We’ll work on passing from the pocket next year.”

Coaches lost this game for us. They coached to
not lose instead of coaching to win. Never has there been a better example of that phrase than in this game. For the first time this year I saw TT suffering from lack of confidence and I place that squarely on Fox and McCoy’s shoulder. Gotta turn him loose earlier and with a O plan that allows him to aggressively use his skills. I’ve totally lost any confidence in Fox to be the guy to win a SB at any time with us after watching how he coached and game planned. Glad we’re in the playoffs, but we head in with a QB whose confidence is shot… thank you Fox.

As for playcalling I didn't like that everytime we threw it was deep
I really wished we would’ve tried to throw short more but considering how poor our passing game was today can you really blame them for calling nothing but running plays today.
And now for something completely different
Exactly, McCoy has no imagination. Where are our TEs? Why don't we see them involved more? You want to open up the downfield
stuff? hit some TEs on some short stuff and bring those safeties up. Game planning and game time adjustments are killing us all year.

Give him an offseason and a real QB coach as well as an OC who actually belongs in the NFL. Then see where he is after OTAs and TC. Can’t ignore the upside despite the last 3 weeks.

In all my years of being a Bronco fan I have never seen a more lackluster, phone it in effort since…the last time we did this a couple of years ago. What is it with this team? They use their worst effort, from coaching to players on done, on the most important day. I read Woody’s article this morning harkening back to the 77 team and how on this day 34 years ago they put together an incredible performance. I remember that game and he is right and this team is no where near there. They make the playoffs but who cares. If Mcoy doesn’t change how he game plans next week will be a debacle.

I Don't Think The Broncos Should Use A Draft Pick On A QB
The Broncos have many other holes to fill before using a pick on a QB. I say continue to build up the defense through the draft and keep Tebow because I think he deserves a shot to improve during a full offseason. However, I think it would be wise to bring in a veteran or even keep Brady Quinn in case he doesn’t improve from the pocket.

But he needs to improve faster........
We need him to be able to throw the ball more efficiently ……
And I think an offseason to develop and train will do really good for him, but if he doesn’t show any improvement then will be a see ya…….
Sorry to say,
being humble and having work ethic means nothing without the skill to go along with it. Besides, I’m not so sure Tim Tebow is as humble as he makes himself out to be. But if he is, maybe that’s a problem. NFL football isn’t a humble sport.

may have to use some movement (such as play action from under center as he rolls out to his left) to buy some time, but we need more receivers breaking open due to the design of the play. Right now, that is not happening.

Orton scored 7 points early and relied on his defense to finish the job.
Tebow has managed to pull improbable victory after improbable victory out of the fire. Whilst he’sstill a work in progress, he’s made great strides this season. With better receivers and a full offseason I expect to see even better next season. He at least has earned the opportunity.

Of course it's because the defense kept it close.
But it still takes the QB to lead that game tying/winning drive. When Orton had those opportunities he failed again and again. Tebow has that will to win that Orton lacks. Maybe in the long run Tebow wont be the answer. But I’m fully convinced that Orton will never be anything but a mediocre quarterback who is unable to come through when it matters.

I do agree with that.
I just think that he did enough this season to get a chance to start next season. If at the end of next season he still looks the same then I would agree that we need to look elsewhere. It’s just that players with that will to win and ability to perform in the clutch don’t come along all that often. I’d hate for us to give up on him before he’s had enough time to fully develop as a player.

That's right.
The problem is, when Tim Tebow wins that way, mostly because of the defense, it’s still all about “Tebow just wins”. The standards are somehow different when it comes to Tim Tebow.
No it isn't.

there were many times where you could count to 5 and he had not thrown, or moved

Tebow has regressed
Very unsure in the pocket; missed several reads; didn’t throw to receivers he should have and locked on to receivers and threw to them when he should not have. Well below 50% passing; he’s not making many positive yards running; he’s getting sacked AND he’s fumbling when tackled. Defenses don’t take him seriously as a threat to pass.
The running game was AMAZING behind McGahee today. Props to Willis and the O-line, at least when they ran the ball. Play calling was WAY too conservative, however. Surreal. When you don’t let Tebow throw it sends the wrong message to him. He loses confidence and starts making bad decisions. They should have called some roll-outs when KC contained him in the pocket all those times. They needed to pass on first down in key situations.
I know I’ll be attacked again for stating the obvious, but EFX need to spend a high draft pick (1st or 2nd) on a real NFL QB, prospect. Maybe not trade up for Luck or Griffin, but they need somebody who can throw the effing ball.

its been a problem all year. And a TE can still release from a block. Wouldn't matter as Tebow wouldn't throw there anyway

One has to wonder if playing in a spread offense has something to do with that.

Hard to say what exactly is going on
He had Aaron Hernandez as a TE at Florida. I didn’t watch so I don’t know often he did go to him. All I know is he doesn’t seem to see the underneath guys often, and there doesn’t seem to be too many routes like that
Drinkin the kool-aid, smokin the Orange Kush
That's my point, Chiefs did a nice play to a TE that blocked and then got open to Orton on a 3rd and 1 and it worked fine
Not saying that this type of play will win us games, but at least make the defenses start to thinking and worrying about something different than stack the box and sit there waiting for us
2 WOs in passing routes and everybody else blocking is not helping Tebow.
We need to get the TEs involved more. Our WOs are young and not have mastered the art of getting separation against NFL corners so we must give Tebow more targets to choose from. Tebow can scramble but McCoy stll feels the need to keep everybody in on pass pro.

Elway needs to hire someone for offense that has full autonomy on how to run it. McCoy’s playcalling is awful and Fox’s philosophy only works if everything goes the team’s way during the game.

You nailed it. Fox’s style is ultra-conservative. Not kicking the FG with 30 seconds left. Hell their kicker already missed one and your D is your strength and points are at a premium with the shackles you put on the offense! THat pissed me off. He plays not to lose which translates into scared. And it has taken a toll on the offense.
And I agree about McD. Terrible with personnel but he turned Orton into a solid QB, Lloyd into a big time deep threat. I suspect that he had great plans for Tebow…but we’ll never know. Unless we trade Tebow to the Rams hahahhaa. Just kidding…I love ya Timmie!!!!!!
Yo Christian Okoye, you got knocked the "F" out!
I have a hard time deciding what to do there
56 yard FG is makeable for Prater for sure, but not automatic, and only about 25 yards out of FG range going the other way, with Bowe still in the game, which would make it a 2 possession game in a game that we are not passing well at all. If the game were 6-0, I would go for it for sure, because then another FG would tie it. But because it was 7-0, we would still need to score a TD or 2 more Fg’s even if we made it. I didn’t like either option to be honest. I thought the real mistake Fox made was to call the timeout on 3rd down. Hate to be a pessimist, but we were not getting a TD there, and we left too much time on the clock.
Drinkin the kool-aid, smokin the Orange Kush
I'd love to see Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator.
Without the overhead of head coach or general manager, I think he will be an excellent offensive coordinator, just as he was in New England. And bring his brother back as quarterbacks coach. Unfortunately, that excellence will likely be in Kansas City next year.

Barely scraped into the playoffs at 9-7. And Elway at least had receivers who would catch the ball. I still believe the Broncos will win in the playoffs. I don’t know how far they will go but I believe they will win at least 2.
Even if I am proved wrong, I believe Tebow is good for your team because the things that he is lacking are things that can be TAUGHT. I think next year, with a full offseason being the number one QB, you will see an amazing improvement.

What I meant by my statement
was that BEFORE Tebow took over as starter, NO ONE expected the Broncos to be in the playoffs at all. At best most figured “here’s your chance Tebow, sink or swim”.
All I personally wanted was for him to have a chance. He got it and, as a result, the TEAM played well enough, to win enough games, to make it into the playoffs. I think they’ll win at least one more. But I’m a diehard Tebow fan so no matter how bad it looks, I’m going to keep believing in his leadership abilities.
Good luck in the playoffs.
btw, I’m a dudette :-)
Oh, and if you all don't want him
