Man, that was awful. Painful to watch. Here is what I see:
1) Tebow has lost confidence.
Our QB did a good job of not throwing an interception, but the primary reason is because he is now afraid to throw the ball. Our receivers are not helping as they are not getting open on single moves and the NFL has caught on to all of Denver's double moves.
2) Running Game still great, if Willis McGahee has the rock. Otherwise, not so much.
All the limping running backs does not bode well for next week. Chris Kuper has been our best Lineman and it looks like he is done. Not sure what is going to happen if we cannot run on the Steelers, but I would bet that Polomalu is licking his chops right now.
3) Coaches played not to lose, which is why we lost.
Why not let Prater kick a long field goal? I would say he has been pretty reliable. Between the ultra conservative play calling, the utter lack of short/intermediate passes in the game plan and a QB that is not accurate enough to hit a tight window, we need any points we can get. only needing a field goal instead of a touchdown at the end of the game would have made a huge difference.
4) Give it up to the D.
They certainly played well enough to win, this week and in my opinion last week against Buffalo. They completely stoned KC for the last three quarters and our offense was not able to get it done, Bottom Line.
5) Orton demonstrated why he was not the QB for Denver despite the win. He is a solid backup at best.
BLUF, we are in big trouble against the Steelers next week. But I give credit to the coaches and players in making it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2006. At least we are in the tournament, and you never know! GO BRONCOS!
