Around SBN: Eden Hazard In London For Medical, According To Reports

The Magic Number is... 23!

I wanted to see what this game might look like based on the entire season's scores. Remember past performance is not always an indicator of future results, but I offer my money back guarantee.

Star-divide

Average score in Broncos Wins: 23.0 - 18.0

Average score in Bronco Losses: 31.4 - 16.4

Average score in Patriot Wins: 34.2 - 19.9

Average score in Patriot Losses: 27.7 - 22.7

The result: We need to hold them to 23 points or less to win this game. If we don't, it could get out of hand.

How do we hold them to 23? Shorten the game.

How do you shorten a 60-minute game? Slow down and limit the number of possessions. We all know, and have been saying, that we need to run the ball and have no turnovers. The other thing that I recall hurting us in the first Patriots game was the drive-extending penalties on defense. If we hold them on 3rd and 8, there can't be a defensive holding or even an offsides call. Those are killers.

We have a shot to go to the AFC Championship Game, but to do that, we have to make them play our game. And hold them to fewer than 23.

Shorten the game

And smack them in the mouth in the process. We did a good job of that in Q1 of the first matchup. I think that first game was a little bigger than the team at that point. After Sunday’s game, they have to believe they can play with anyone in the league, because they can!

3rd downs and NO TURNOVERS for offense

and exactly the opposite for the DEFENSE, stop 3rd downs (great tackling) and get turnovers…

I get the 23 point idea. I said 28 would win last week, it took 29 LOL

But this week will not play to averages, they have to be amped up.

Denver needs 32. If the offense is working that great, the Patriots will already have less drives and the Denver defense will be playing lights out to do their part. Denver D only allows average of 24 points, give the Patriots 27 to be nice.

32+ and we win !!!!! As last week we can get these anyway, offense, defense, special teams.

Shootouts

The problem with this is that we don’t win shootouts and they do. We win low-scoring close games. If it turns into a shootout, I don’t think it will be close, because we aren’t getting to 32+, unless something crazy happens.

I like your logic, I say let's hold em to 13.... leave a little cushion.

Yeah...

Winning by 0.3 points would be awesome, but probably make my heart explode.
