This was my first year as a member of MHR, actually only part of a year, and I thought it would be cool to join the forum and throw in my 2 cents every once in a while and maybe occasionally amaze everyone with Broncos lore and knowledge of the game. Wow, was I ever wrong!
Not only is the Bronco fan base here true orange blooded die hards, but so many are extremely knowledgeable about the game, our team and the Xs and Os. We have statisticians, play by play announcers, those with defensive genius and those with offensive genius, and I would swear that more than a few that have a degree in journalism with an emphasis on sports. I have learned more in half a season about schemes, cover 1, cover 2, nickel and dime packages, read option, the spread option, power I, etc.
I’m not a young man by any stretch, I watched live when Green Bay beat Dallas at Lambeau Field for a championship, watched Fran T and the purple people eaters and was devastated every time Minnesota lost, saw my home town Atlanta get its franchise, damn did they suck. Was moved to Florida, thanks Mom, and was a Fish fan when they went undefeated. Then, really thanks Mom, moved to Colorado in 1976 and have been a Bronco fanatic ever since. Not leaving anytime soon (I hope).
I came to MHR with a general knowledge of offensive and defensive formations, but I must say I am truly humbled by the expertise demonstrated here. Each and every one has shown that whether we agree on a particular player, a specific game plan, offensive play calling or defensive play calling, we are all Orange blooded Denver Bronco fans and will be whether we are 4-12, 8-8 or 16-0. Here’s to the next run at the big trophy.
Thanks for having me on board, and as always…
GO BRONCOS!
