go all in with Peyton Manning?

idea: sign Manning to a short deal, Draft a 1st round TE, a vetern WR, draft a 3rd round RB. Sign a free agent starting SS. Draft a 2nd round cb. 4th round playmaker WR/RB. 5th round OT. 6th round DE. 7th round LB. We'd have a Peyton Manning Offense with a defense much better than he's had and still the top ranked rushing attack. Superbowl or shortsighted?

Cool idea

But would not happen. It would set us back from being a powerful franchise for a long time. We need a Qb for the present and the future. Not just for the next few years. No reason for him to come in an teach. Thats why Elway is going to help Tebow in the offseason

You know whom would think Payton Manning to Denver is a dumb idea?

Payton Manning.

Look for Payton to land on a team that really needs him, is in a major media market and has a very wealthy owner. Think Washington, NY Jets or Seattle.

My guess is NY Jets so he can be near his little brother. Washington as well since something tells me Snyder would pay up to replace Grossman. I think Shanny might get on board as well.

Tim Tebow is Denver's 2012 starting QB. I'm not even kind of sorry that offends some of you (including you Elway).

Signing Manning is a good idea, Tim needs a mentor

If Manning can still play, sign him, let him start and move Tim to #2. The pressure is off and the media circus moves on. Tim gets time to develop and be mentored by one of the best pocket passers in the league. When Manning retires, hire him as QB Coach/OC.

Signing Manning is a great idea for any team that wants to win in 2012 and doesn’t have a franchise QB.

That means it’s a great idea for at least 18 to 22 other teams.

Elway can’t just click his heels together and make Payton Manning a Bronco. It doesn’t work that way. Manning will actually have some say in where he goes. And gasp… he’ll even have options.

We have nothing to offer Manning.

Better idea

Lets develop the young QB we have on the roster named Tim Tebow instead of wasting time with a guy that at best has another 3-4 years left in the NFL

Hire a good QB coach

Tebow was at his worst at the end of the year after a season of coaching. Hire someone that knows how to develop a QB. Just throwing Tebow into live action is not doing him or the Broncos any good.

Im ok with that

but getting a SUPER expensive FA like Manning is a bad idea. Even if he’s 100% from his neck, he’s 36, and probably only has about 3-4 years left

Best idea for Tim since college..Adam Gase is a coach not a teacher IMO!

Kreese and Lawrence will decide if Tim Tebow can develop into our future.

I really like Peyton Manning

but, I really don’t like this idea.

It’s cost prohibitive for the Broncos as we have some other needs to fill. I’d hate to tie that much money into one position while we are rebuilding (if I can really call it that).

Also, I agree with the idea that Peyton wouldn’t want to come here. The Tim Tebow media circus would be too much of a headache for someone of Peyton’s NFL stature. Not that he couldn’t handle it, but why would he want to?

I’m all for going forward with Tim as the starter. Let’s load this team with talent and come back with a vengeance!

Bad idea. Plus why would Peyton chose Denver over all the other teams that would want him?

Fox isn’t the type of coach that runs a pass heavy offense. Peyton will want a coach who lets him run his own offense (or at least gives him a lot of control to choose plays) and not have to play so conservative.

Tim Tebow wears 3WM and drinks Tuscan whole milk.

Not no but HELL NO.

We have a potential franchise quarterback already. Now we are going to find out one way or the other if we really do have one or not. I love Peyton and all, but the dude is done. He might come back and play, but I don’t want to give up the farm to get him here for one or two years and then be right back at square one again. No thanks. There was a team that had a great run with that quarterback, and that team was the Indianapolis Colts for the better part of the last decade. He’s also about to turn 36 years old. You can’t outrun father time.

Not to mention he had experimental stem cell therapy in Europe for his neck

The biggest issue I would see with bringing in Manning

is that you would be running a radically different offense from the Tebow-led offense and then be expecting Tebow to somehow be transformed into a pure pocket passer. I don’t see Tebow making that drastic of a transformation and to require that would be to ignore the gifts that Tebow has.

I’d rather see Elway work with Tebow during the off season to improve his accuracy on the short/intermediate throws, on his reads & check downs, and on improving his accuracy when he’s forced to roll to his right. I’m of the opinion that if Tim can improve in those areas, we would add a legitimate passing element to an already dangerous running attack which would serve to open up both the run and the pass for the Broncos offense.

A playoff team for Manning.

With our schedule (brutal) we maybe 6-10. 2011 miracles will cost us in draft and schedule.
