Being a strong member of the LaLaLand Group here at MHR, I hate to admit that deep down I didn't expect us to make the playoffs in any way shape or form. Imagine my surprise! It just looked like a "Rookie" season from the top down, and I didn't expect much, especially due to the lock out.
Now we are in the playoffs, and the fan base is calling for the heads of the "rookie" coaching staff (on the offensive side of the ball) and generally pissed off at the show (or lack of it) put on by the team in the last three games of the season.
Obviously, I am very aware of the years of experience accumulated by our new coaching staff, having researched and written the "I Spy" posts that I've posted here at MHR, but I'm giving this staff a "by year" this year, due to the circumstances, and have faith in the fact that significant changes will be made next year all across the board.I admit that I didn't like the John Fox hiring when it happened, but I am willing to give him and the rest of the staff the same benefit of doubt that every other person on the team deserves. After just one year, under the circumstances that we had to work with, I am surprised and pleased with the over all results thus far, and look forward to our first playoff game in many years.
Anything can happen! A lot must change from the last three losses to show that we want to win, and that begins with the Coaching Staff. Timid? Scared to death? Conservative to a disgusting degree? Coaching from any of those mind sets is unacceptable. It didn't get us to any of these!
