Matt Flynn is a free agent in 2012...

I like Tim Tebow. He has a winning history and he's an all round good guy. But I have so many times been watching other guys that manage to get the job done. Much the way Tim did for 6 games. But those wins were a very large team effort that Tim led but didn't necessarily do alone. How would the team have done with a different guy (not Orton)? It's a reasonable question but all hypothetical.

So what will we do after the Steeler game? If we win it, then of course good things will have happened during the game. I have my doubts that it will be an all Tim day, however. I hope we do win, but even so the Broncos will still be stuck with the QB problem. I want to believe that Tim will improve as a real pocket passer, but so far this hasn't been the case. He's been doing worse the last three games. I've heard all the arguments, and understand them. Sure he didn't get an off season but what happens next season if he is surpassed in the depth charts like this year? What if the other QB's we bring in to compete look better than him in the pre-season? What a mess. I believe this game will be the maker or breaker that seals Tim's deal next season. Yeah, if we advance to the AFC Championship game, Tim's future is more secure. And of course an SB appearance will help. If Tim pulls it off and makes these things happen, I think that's the only way he can seal his deal. 10% chance? 30%? I just can't manage to guess.

What I am guessing is we draft a QB at 2nd or 3rd round? And what will be the future of Brady Quinn? Is he gone along with his contract? I bet yes. Do we go after a guy like Matt Flynn in the FA? This takes me back to the comment about how we would have done with a guy like Flynn this season. When I see these guys play I find myself wishing we had that guy in uniform and behind center taking snaps.

Don't get me wrong, because I'm happy we made the play offs. We did much better than anyone expected. The season is a success. That's great but I'm not particularly pleased we lost the last 3 games though. And I do believe that a lot of the reasons we lost those games are because of Tim. Yes there were dropped passes, mistakes made, bad plays called but come on. The QB has to be able to overcome adverse situations and make the play. Running, passing and good team offense. Luck is great to have. Skill is even better when you add a little luck to the mix. Is Tim just lucky?

Ultimately, I want to win the Super Bowl. Go Denver!
