I like Tim Tebow. He has a winning history and he's an all round good guy. But I have so many times been watching other guys that manage to get the job done. Much the way Tim did for 6 games. But those wins were a very large team effort that Tim led but didn't necessarily do alone. How would the team have done with a different guy (not Orton)? It's a reasonable question but all hypothetical.
What I am guessing is we draft a QB at 2nd or 3rd round? And what will be the future of Brady Quinn? Is he gone along with his contract? I bet yes. Do we go after a guy like Matt Flynn in the FA? This takes me back to the comment about how we would have done with a guy like Flynn this season. When I see these guys play I find myself wishing we had that guy in uniform and behind center taking snaps.
Don't get me wrong, because I'm happy we made the play offs. We did much better than anyone expected. The season is a success. That's great but I'm not particularly pleased we lost the last 3 games though. And I do believe that a lot of the reasons we lost those games are because of Tim. Yes there were dropped passes, mistakes made, bad plays called but come on. The QB has to be able to overcome adverse situations and make the play. Running, passing and good team offense. Luck is great to have. Skill is even better when you add a little luck to the mix. Is Tim just lucky?
Ultimately, I want to win the Super Bowl. Go Denver!
