Who Do They Think They R?

My Rooma-tard-brainiac-deficiency is at a high level today, so I find myself looking at the Pitt Team a little bit. Ben Roethlisberger's bum ankle still hurts and RB Rashard Mendenhall is out so that is all good. So i'm wondering who are the stars and who can we exploit? Will we see Charlie Batch after the first Big Ben series? Will VonDoom end Ben's year?
"It's a clean slate, new season," running back Lance Ball
said. "That's how we have to handle it. The past is the past. We're in here now. We're all for one goal. We just have to get back to the winning ways."
Well Lance, here's what you have coming to town!
Defense:
Run D: Allowing 99.8 yds/G; Ranked 8th Overall
Passing D: Allowing 171.9 yds/G; Ranked 1st Overall
Top Eight Tacklers: I was surprised that James Harrison was so low on the list. Now he doesn't look so tough!
PLAYER........................ TOT. SOLO.. ASSIST.... SCK
FS Ryan Clark............... 100..... 71....... 29..........1.0
LB Lawrence Timmons.... 93..... 68....... 25.......... 2.0
SS Troy Polamalu............ 91.... 64....... 27.......... 1.0
ILB James Farrior............ 78..... 54...... 24........... 2.0
CB William Gay................ 61.... 49........12........... 0.0
OLB James Harrison........ 59.... 48....... 11........... 9.0
CB Ike Taylor................... 44.... 34........10........... 0.0
DE Brett Keisel................ 48.... 33.........15........... 3.0
We have to get all the way down to #8 before a D-lineman shows up. Is that saying something? Looks like we need to know where Ryan Clark is at all times, actually all three of the top guys.
Offense:
Passing game: PASSING YDS, 253.4 yds/G; Ranked 10th Overall
PLAYER................. REC .......YDS... YDS/REC. LONG TD
WR Mike Wallace.... 72....... 1,193...... 16.6......... 95.... 8
WR Antonio Brown.. 69....... 1,108...... 16.1......... 79.... 2
TE Heath Miller........ 51......... 631...... 12.4......... 39.... 2
WR Hines Ward....... 46......... 381........ 8.3......... 31.... 2
Looks like Hines 57 took a dump this year. Anyone know whats up with that? Mike Wallace is ranked #11 in the NFL this year.
Rushing game: Averaging 118.9 yds/G; Rank 14th Overall
"not so" Special Teams:
NAME................... FGM.. FGA..... %......... LONG...... 40-49....... 50+
K Shaun Suisham... 23.... 31........ 74.2...... 51yds......... 6-11...... 1-2
They only have one punt and no kicks returned for a TD this year. It looks like Shaun can get rattled over 45 yards. Holding them to a field goal attempt of 45 + yards has a 50/50 chance of missing.

It looks like Harrison is the sack leader with 9...
has Ward been hurt?

Troy is tied with Harrison and Woodley (2 apiece) for the team lead in INT’s.
He’s tied with Ike Taylor and William Gay.
Top Eight Tacklers: I was surprised that James Harrison was so low on the list. Now he doesn’t look so tough!
That’s probably because he missed 4 games with a broken orbital and 1 game with a suspension.
Looks like we need to know where Ryan Clark is at all times
That’s pretty easy. On the bench. He’s not playing because of his Sickle Cell Trait.
Looks like Hines 57 took a dump this year. Anyone know whats up with that?
Because we have two young and very talented WRs who took his PT. Still a very good blocking WR though.
They only have one punt and no kicks returned for a TD this year.
Sure, but we are 8th in KR average and 13th in PR average.

Much appreciated comments John!
Thanks for the corrections! Now I see why I was having some doubts about Harrison! With all the media hype focused on Denver this year, it isn’t hard for me to forget what is happening elsewhere. I never even realized he had been injured this year.
That had to have set you all back a bit, but obviously everyone else has stepped up! 8th in KR average aye? So ST have been solid but unspectacular?
I’m just trying to get a laid back feeling about who your team is. My Nephew/God Son is a Steelers Die hard and so this game will be fun for us!
"It ain't over till the Te-man says it is!"
I’ve thought our ST has been great, especially after the first few years with Tomlin where it was downright awful. The only thing that is bad about it is Shuan Suisham. I’d rather put the ball in Ben’s hands then try any FG above 40 yards.
Don’t sleep on James Harrison. He’s still playing lights out and a tough matchup for any tackle, because he does it all well: run support, pass rush, and cover. The real question at OLB is how healthy is LaMarr Woodley?

See there
I didn’t know he wasn’t full strength. Did something happen last week?
"It ain't over till the Te-man says it is!"
Not last week
He pulled his Hammy about 5 weeks ago. He hasn’t been 100% and has missed a lot of time.

They are such a tuff rehab.
What’s that Sickle Cell do to Ryan Clark? Is it the thin air, altitude?

I’m no doctor, but I believe it thickens up his blood and that’s why he had trouble breathing and some of his organs shut down.

That's a bad deal. I found an article about it after I asked.
I appreciate you sharing all the goods with us over here.

Clark will not play
so there goes their leading tackler. Mendenhall will not play and Big Ben will fall after the first series. So there is their leading tackler and rusher and passer. What is left? A really good D and no offense? Sounds like a coin flip to me. LOL
Playoffs!?!? Playoffs!?!? Don't talk about Playoffs!! Playoffs?!?!
Never ever underestimate your foe!
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 12-4 for a reason not because they needed help to get here, they were down to the last game of fighting for the division title in the toughest division in the league.
So I wouldn’d get all giddy just because they’ve lost a few players to injuries, they are still fierce competitors that take every advantage they can to beat you. Beating them will mean you’ve executed your job to perfection with litte to no mistakes. Can it be done? Certainly, but it will also take a gameplan drawn up by the coaches and the players play like they’re hungry, limp wristedness won’t survive the onslaught of they don’t, because even Big Ben can beat Tim Tebow right now playing out of a wheelchair…
Win, lose or draw, we are the Denver Broncos! 13-3 Baby!!! Until we ain't!
Redman
is good. They won’t miss Mendenhall as much as we think.
The best of the 2011-2012 season is yet to come.
I agree, he has that 4.4 Y/C stat
