Did we miss Darcel McBath?
Just saying. We could of really used McBath this season and it could of been a great opportunity for him to break out he showed potential in the past and the Broncos were and still in need of a saftey since Rahim didn't have the year we hoped and B-Dawk's injuries, and Quinton Carter was mediocore. I think the Denver Broncos have problems at saftey if they have to resort to David Bruton which did good but not really a full time guy. Well it was just a thought I know it's the past and no point dwelling on it

No - we didn't miss McBath
it’s hard to miss someone’s talent when they’re always on the bench hurt and never play. Safety help is needed though.

If I remember correctly...
McBath couldn’t make the Pats team that has a WR/College QB AND a WR/Returnman playing in its secondary. He also only made it on the Jags roster b/c they put something like 22 guys on IR this season. He played in 1 game and had 2 tackles.
Sounds to me like Mcbath was over drafted and we got over hyped by McD. He was on the street for like 3 months before the Jags signed him I think he was available for 2 months before the Pats even looked at him.
Edelman is the WR/College QB...
who is the other one?

I missed him.
I love typing Mcnicknames and McGlass was a favorite.

McOuch!
I agree, Larsen shouldn’t get any bigger. I am getting tired of his bone crushing hits knocking the pixels off my TV, once they fall to the floor they are very hard to find.

Injured Reserve
McBath’s 2011 season with the Jags was ended Dec. 20th when he was placed on Injured Reserve for a forearm problem. What more needs to be said?
S play
will be better this next season. I saw some positives from both Carter and Moore and with an offseason to prepare, they’ll be better for it. I trust our coaching staff and not that embarrassment that was McDaniels and Wink leading the way. These kids will learn to play among men.
Our scheme will improve as our talent improves in the middle of that DL and I’m really looking to see how Ty Warren plays out after his arm injury (tricep tear I think). We’re hurting in the middle of the trenches both sides of the ball.
Say hello to my fast...
McBath is just another one of McJedi’s mind boggling picks. Sure the Cowboys’s wanted him too, but that just makes two stupid teams.
McGlass went unsigned for several weeks until the Jags picked him up. Then McGlass did what he always does and got injured/placed on IR.
Darcel won’t even be in the NFL two years from today. We could use him about as much as we could use Richard Quinn or Jack MF Williams.
Tim Tebow is Denver's 2012 starting QB. I'm not even kind of sorry that offends some of you (including you Elway).
McBath is much TOO fragile....and he's a poor tackler!
Nope! As a football player-not missed!

2009 will be remembered as one of the Broncos worst drafts.
With 2 – 1st and 2 – 2nds, McDaniels had a chance to rebuild a fledling team. We had 10 picks and only one (Ayers) is a full time starter. Bruton is solid on STs but lacks athleticism to be a good position player. McBath showed some talent, but with each hit he was on the bench nursing his wounds. Nope…Don’t miss McBath one bit.
Win, lose or draw, we are the Denver Broncos! 13-3 Baby!!! Until we ain't!
The 2009 draft was the single biggest set back in Denver Bronco history. We will be feeling that fiasco for at least the next five years. We should have several starters from that draft and two Pro Bowl type talents. Instead, we have basically nothing beyond a pretty good starting DE. Add that whiff to the 2007 draft fiasco and you can see why we can’t hang with good NFL teams.

The Broncos Were Set Back By Drafts Long Before 2009
With the exception of Clinton Portis, Darrent Williams, and the 2006 and 2008 Drafts, Mike Shanahan did a terrible job of drafting in the 2000s. I mean, who passes on Ed Reed to take Ashlie Lelie? Additionally, trading up for Jay Cutler in 2006 instead of Haloti Ngata was a mistake. That’s the beauty of hindsight.
But
if smart we use this hindsight to our advantage. We drafted Tim Crowder, Eddie Royal, Alphonso Smith, Darcel McBath and Richard Quinn as 2nd round picks in ‘07-’09 . We followed that in ’10 and ’11 with Zane Beadles, Rahim Moore and Orlando Franklin.Jury is still out on those three. IMO it’s not looking so good. So with all these 2nd round busts, maybe we should trade out the 2nd round altogether.

Still too early to call
On Beadles, Moore, and Franklin. Beadles has improved. Franklin and Moore will undoubtedly benefit from an actual off season of coaching. It’s still way too early to call any of those guys busts.

Did not miss him at all. We just missed Brian Dawkins. McBath wouldn't have done anything to help that.
Tim Tebow wears 3WM and drinks Tuscan whole milk.
There is no doubt that in recent years the Broncos' drafting has been terrible.
In fact, the entire scouting system has been suspect IMO. We got some real gems. We wasted picks on Maurice Clarett and Darcell McBath to name a couple of picks, and we whiffed big time on Dale Carter and Dre’ Bly to name a couple of FA pick ups. These are just a few of a large number of ridiculous personnel moves by the Broncos since our last Super Bowl appearance. Believe me, the list goes on. Things look to be headed in the right direction again, but it has been a long time coming.

The fail list is long.
There were some huge plusses also. IMO Champ, Dawkins and a quite a few other FAs over the years more than make up for all the failures. As far as draft picks go, look above to my list of all 2nd round fails. We need these to stop.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Yes the Broncos did make some successful moves in between all the putrid ones.
But given the struggles the team has had since ‘05, I would not say that they outweigh the failures. The best measure of a team’s personnel decisions is win/loss record, and going by that, you have to say that it has been mediocre at its best, unbelievably horrible at its worst.

Its hard to say
You are wrong about Carter that much I know. He played very well later in the season considering he is a rookie.
I liked McBath’s upside, he was good in coverage. His 2 picks against Manning was great. He has a lot of injuries and its pointless to save a roster spot for someone who never sees the field. I kind of liked him. He had Roman Harper potential. The two had very similar skills/Physical ability as well as weaknesses.
