Dawkins Out vs Steelers
The Denver Broncos face quite the uphill battle this Sunday and they will have to go at it again without the emotional leader of their defense Brian Dawkins.
Dawkins missed a game against the New England Patriots in Week Fifteen before playing in Week Sixteen against the Buffalo Bills and suffering a neck injury that even through today has made his fingers tingly and numb. The Broncos captain did not play in Week Seventeen against the Kansas City Chiefs. Coincidentally all three of those games were losses.
WILHITE, LARSEN UPDATES
Cornerback Jonathan Wilhite has been ruled questionable for the Broncos for this weekend by the team with an illness. Fullback Spencer Larsen has yet to be able to participate in practice and could also miss this weekend's game, undrafted rookie Austin Sylvester would replace Larsen if the veteran fullback is unable to go.

I hope it's not over in Denver as a coach though...
Win, lose or draw, we are the Denver Broncos! 13-3 Baby!!! Until we ain't!
Agree with you both
there are just some injuries you don’t push and this like Ryan Clark’s is one of those.
"And on the 8th day, God created Tim Tebow. And He saw that it was good. And He said, "I can now retire. Go forth and make Touchdowns through Running and Passing."

I just hope Dawkins doesn't risk his future health any more.
Don’t play through the pain. Don’t take any risks. Just be as healthy as he can.
And I concur that I’d love for him to be a coach for the Broncos. Hell, he already is.
Losing Spencer Larsen can be huge on STs...
Win, lose or draw, we are the Denver Broncos! 13-3 Baby!!! Until we ain't!
He's also our main run blocker
And Tebow’s blocker on most option plays.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
larsens knee injury didn't look good.
I thought that should have been a penalty as the tackler went for his knees. Dawk ill be praying for, I’d hate to see it end like this.

depth issue is killer.
i’d say that overall the steelers’ injuries are more significant player for player, but because of the difference in team depths, we’re suffering more. on our team having larsen gone might be more significant than the steelers losing pouncey.

Or Captain Morgan?
Since he’s always got that leg propped, like he’s stepping up?
Now if it was about taste – I’d say Southern Comfort or a White Russian… But in regards to the drink being held up to someone stepping up, I figure the Captain is always prone to stepping up, eh.

For every King, a Crown
Crown Royal and coke for this guy…drank it every game during our winning streak…stopped and we started losing. Bringing it back this week! Won’t be able to watch the game because…well…IT’S MY ANNIVERSARY. I am going to dinner with my wife and drinking it there though…while holding her hand, smiling, gazing into her eyes and chanting silently in my head “Go Broncos.” :-P
Quotes from my wife (2nd yr football fan) while watching the Broncos with me:
"Honey I know we are losing and you are upset but remember things could be worse. You could be cheering for the Raiders."
"THAT hit [Rahim on Jones] got a flag? What?!?! AND a FINE?!?! Why not just strap pillows to their heads and have a tea party on the 50 yard line since that's as much contact as the NFL will allow."

Congratulations DDD!!!!!
You’re right…Go BRONCOS!

2011 AFC West Champions
Well it was our 1st Anniversary and she is 9 mo pregnant...
I suggested going to a late dinner…but from the response I got I was unwilling to bring it up again. :-)

Hopefully this only means
He gets another week of resting in, until We play the next game. This means Bruton’s health is all that much more important. He filled in well last week. Much better than either of the rookie’s thus far. Whoever steps in, I hope they become Our difference maker in the best way possible!

Difference makers could be Bunkley and Thomas
With Pouncey out and is backup gimpy, those big boys should be living in the backfield. Big Ben won’t have anywhere to go if we can bring consistent pressure up the middle. They’ll chase him right into VonDoom!!

My thooughts exactly shasta....
Thomas was living in the backfield last week, especially 2nd half. I think he’s finally showing some of that raw talent he showed in college before the suspension

Well
Dawk has maximized his God-given abilities to the nth degree. NOTHING to be ashamed of! God Bless you Dawk, you were one of my favs long before you came to Denver, thanks for all you’ve done if this is the end. Let’s win this one for him!

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

IMO Dawkins is irreplaceable
I’d love to see him on the field again, but honestly at this point…I just hope he’s ok. Neck injuries are weird sometimes…symptoms can linger and I pray he doesn’t end up with permanent problems. I watched some clips about him on youtube yesterday and I saw the hit in 2007 that I believe (?) was the start of his neck injuries. In fact, I’m going to post that interview as a fanshot…I’d never seen the interview with Steve Sabol before and it really opened my eyes to just how special of a player and person Dawkins is. I hope he retires a Bronco and that his jersey sells-out of anywhere that carries it.

I really wanted dawkins to play. He brings so much to this team. I still cant forget how he rallied the defense late in the game against vikings and chewed everyone out. They redponded with an intetception. I feel better about beating steelers with brian on the field, but not so sure. He just brings irreplacable emotion to defense.
