More Denver Broncos in Canton? Not this year.

CANTON, OH - AUGUST 6: Former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharp poses with his bust at the Enshrinement Ceremony for the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 6, 2011 in Canton, Ohio. (Photo by Jason Miller/Getty Images)

There will be no Denver Broncos donning the yellow jacket in Canton this year. The announcement of the 2012 Hall-of-Fame finalists was just released and Denver will have no representation in this years class. Over the last couple years the Broncos have had a good run, getting Floyd Little and Shannon Sharpe inducted, but this year there's no such luck.

Steve Atwater, Karl Mecklenburg and Terrell Davis had made the list of Semi-Finalists on November 22nd, but were conspicuously absent this morning when the list was whittled down to 17 finalists.

Jump with me to see who the 17 finalists are.

League MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 2000+ yard season...

Not to mention playing with a migraine….

If it was based on stats alone, there are a ton of players who are there that shouldn’t be.

Not arguing the point that Terrell doesn't belong because I believe he does, just showing the longivity of Bettis over Davis...

That’s what we keep hearing as the reason why he isn’t in…

If we ever want to get back the caliber of team we were in the 90's we need one of these...

What’s hard is finding one around the same time as Terrell was found…6th rd.

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

I love Terrell Davis.

He made it possible to get John Elway the Super Bowl wins he deserved. He saved the franchise (I remember talk of the change in uniforms / logo to remove all references to Denver, in case the franchise was relocated).

But, it’s the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Very Good / Great. Davis had a short six year career. From 1995 to 1998 (4 seasons), he was one of, if not the best RB in the league. After that, his career was over in everything but name. As much as I’d love for him to get recognized, I just don’t think that four years makes a player a Hall of Famer.

On the other hand, the fact that Steve Atwater is not already in the Hall of Fame is a sham.

What more should he have accomplished?

Though his career was short, he held just about every honor he could get.

If Gale Sayers is in the HOF, so should TD

Look at the stats and TD had a accomplished career when compared to Sayers.

"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem" - Duffman

Should sack the committee

I love dline

but I don’t see how Taz gets in over Albino Rhino, TD, and especially Atwater. (Dennis Smith love, anyone?)

Cortez Kennedy was hugely hyped, and he had a good career from what I remember, but great and awesome and 2 Super Bowl winners and more feared than Ronnie Lott? Bah. Reggie I HATE YOU White, Bruce oh Crap Smith… Those men were scary. Taz? Meh.

No Atwater? Watch some football, HOF voters…

I guess

they feel bad for the Seahawks not having that many in Canton right now? Largent’s the only one of them I think.

...but what have the Seahwaks done?

Other than 2005 and 1983 it’s pretty slim pickin’s….. Throw in last year’s game against the Saints and Romo mishandling that field goal snap and you’ve got their greatest games in entirety….

Remember up until 2004 we had nobody and had been to the Superbowl 6 times.

I really hope Carter doesn't get in, the guy was and is one of the biggest asses in NFL history

Looking at the list I would vote for Bettis, Parcells, Reed, and Kennedy, and probably Roaf

This just what a joke these guys are.

The Committee is full of a bunch of biased east coast writers. Atwater, Gradishar, Davis all deserve to get in over anyone on that list, imo.

This just SHOWS what a joke these guys are. Angry typing.

You guys don’t count the cup of coffee Andre Reed had with you on his two-year contract? Put your support behind him!

Then we can talk about Cookie Gilchrist. :-)
