Congratulations Denver Broncos

The Better team won.

Star-divide

I just have one request. PLEASE go to New England and whoop the Patriots. PLEASE!

The Denver Broncos showed a lot of heart, passion and teamwork to get the victory today. Every prognasticator that likes to prognasticate picked the Steelers this week. Boy were they wrong.

I will be cheering for the Broncos next Saturday and I honestly hope ya'll go on an win the SB. Go Broncos! I am jumping on the Denver Bandwagon the rest of this season. I remain a Steeler fan for life, but for the rest of the season I am behind ya all the way.

The fans here at Mile High Report were very classy on my Broncos Buster post earlier in the week. I know its been a wild ride this season for ya. Don't let this victory over the Steelers be your SB. Build off this momentum and take it all the way.

When Denver wins the SB this year, it will be one of, if not the greatest sports stories of all time.

Once again. Congratulations!

Steelers fans have nothing to be ashamed of

their team played tough, and cameron hayward did a good job. definetely a team with young talent.

by Lolly Tran on Jan 8, 2012 6:40 PM MST reply actions

also redmond filled in pretty damn good too

the steelers have absorbed much diversity these past few weeks including the fact that their RB coach is in a coma, still they almost came through and did not make any excuses whatsoever, theres a reason why they have the most lombardi trophies. Thank you pitt for a great game

If the broncos don't turn the ball over, they should beat the pats.

The broncos owned the pats until the three straight fumbles.

by tiderfootball09 on Jan 8, 2012 6:41 PM MST reply actions   2 recs

Agreed regarding the last Pats/Broncos game.

Pats Defense will however be looking different than in Week 15. Patrick Chung is back at SS and Devin McCourty was moved to FS from CB. They’ll also have MLB Brandon Spikes back, Tebow’s former teammate in college.

In addition to not turning the ball over I think the Broncos need to create some takeaways as well and find their old run-game.

It is what it is

by Middlesex on Jan 8, 2012 8:23 PM MST up reply actions   1 recs

Simply put, you just have to play smash mouth football with the pats.

If the broncos can hit them in the mouth again like last time, without the turnovers, then I have no doubt the broncos can win. The pats are a soft football team. I’m glad the broncos have gotten rid of that “soft” label.

Thanks for the post. Steelers played great despite the injuries. I watched the game with my dad who has been a die hard Steelers fan for 40 years and it was a great game. Always respected the Steelers organization with Rooney, Dick Lebeau, and Bill Cowher back in the day, my favorite non-Shanahan coach when I was growing up.

by DBroncs24 on Jan 8, 2012 6:47 PM MST reply actions

I imagine your dad and I are in the same generation of Steeler fans. I been on board since 72.

Reminds me of the Dallas vs Steelers SB in the 70’s. My dad is a big Cowboys fan and I was a young Steelers fan. At one point during that game, I was cheering for my Steelers and dad got upset and told me if I didn’t quieten down I would be watching the game from my room. I didn’t have a TV in my room! So I shut up, but I had the last laugh as my Steelers won the game.

by steeler fever on Jan 8, 2012 6:52 PM MST up reply actions

Haha exactly, grew up with the Steel Curtain and Harris/Bradshaw/Swann. I had been on the losing side of the game for a while (I don’t think anyone here has forgotten the 05 AFC Championship) but its nice to see the Broncos looking up again. I remember growing up during the Kordell Stewart years when Sundays weren’t as fun for Steelers fans, but they have been great for a while now and still have a ton of young talent.

I'm guessing...

…no QB in playoff history before today went for 300+ passing yards with 2 tds AND 50 rushing yards and another td.

Just a guess, but I know someone has the answer.

Dignity in defeat

Great game by both teams. I had a sinking feeling Roethlisberger was gonna pull it off when McGahee lost that horrendous fumble, but Denver held it together. And Tebow, DT, and the O Line played lights out today, so nothing to be ashamed of. Steelers weren’t full strength but that’s part of football. Neither were the Broncos. Both teams acquitted themselves with class. Good to hear classy words from a Steelers fan. Hopefully see you next year in the postseason.

TY for the sentiment PaVa.

Of course I would like to be an active member of BTSC. Its just hard for me to be active on a blog that allows a poster to weekly denigrate every other team in the NFL, all that does is enable every visitor to “our” site to reinforce the sterotype that is already out there about the “arrogant” Steeler fans. “We” may think its all in good humor, I would imagine most of the visitors don’t see it that way and probably mark our whole fanbase off as “insert Mechem hate”. Much as we have done with the Browns fanbase from our experience at their blog.

When the JC hate was allowed on the same post in 3 consecutive weeks, it just became to much for me to accept and want to be associated with. A lot of awesome people at BTSC, yourself included and they are missed by me. If and when the admistrators of the BTSC reign in that particular members posts, I will return. I don’t understand why it is allowed, the only reason I can come up with is, that it draws viewers to the site much in the same way people watched Jerry Springer for many years. I honestly don’t understand it, as it violates the rules we all agree to when we sign up at BTSC.

I don’t like to air “dirty laundry” in front of “outsiders” but at the late date of this post, few will be viewing it.

I think it's the "new" Steelers fans that are a pain.

The ones that were 49ers fans..then Cowboys fans…then Patriots fans….then Steelers fans….and soon to be Broncos fans…

The legit, long-time ‘Burgh fans are good, knowledgeable fans. It’s the ones who jumped on the bandwagon in 05 that are pains. The same ones who probably could not tell you who Neil O’Donnell or Greg Lloyd or Levon Kirkland are…

Your Steelers played alright. They made a bunch of plays and needed maybe one more play in order to win.

Once the Broncos made the first score to go up 7-6 and demonstrated they could score at all I knew the Broncos would do OK. I was also very happy the Broncos didn’t stop trying to run the ball.

by cosBroncosFan on Jan 9, 2012 11:03 AM MST reply actions

Unbelievable Win !

What a win – you made a pretty good Pittsburgh Steeler defense look ordinary. The Bronco offensive coordinator Mike McCoy deserves a game ball – he really took it to Dick LeBeau… made him look clueless. You got screwed out of fumble recovery by the dumb-ass refs – a correct call there is at least a 10 point turnaround – the game should have never even gone into OT. You outplayed the Steelers & the referees for a very big win.

Celebrate now though because next Saturday night your run through the playoffs will come to an end – as you know already, the Patriots have a real offense and they’ll hang 30 or 40 points on the Broncos. Not sure Tebow can put up 41 on New England at Gillette.

Great win though… really proud of the Broncos.

Thanks, steeler fever.

I gotta agree with a lot of the sentiments from fellow Broncomaniacs here — way to keep it classy! Your Steelers have been a perennial powerhouse in the league, and being able to watch such an exciting game at such a high level was a treat indeed.

I heard that the injuries to Hampton, Kiesel, and Starks might require off-season surgery. Here’s to hoping your crew recovers well, and best of luck next year (until you play us, that is!)
