This article has a Seinfeld, feel, doesn't it? The article about nothing...The Broncos have a chance to take the division lead this week with a win over the San Diego Chargers. We might just become the most boring division leaders in football. So be it.
Are you not entertained?
Russel Crowe's famous words in the movie Gladiator have led me to an interesting thoughts about what we look for in our football team.
The reason I bring this up is because I have seen a few comments and tweets floating around the internet about how there's not enough MHR content. We aren't posting longwinded editorials about the quarterback battle because there isn't one. We aren't throwing our arms up in frustration because our top cornerback is out for the season like the New York Jets. There's no drama about Tim Tebow taking over the starting punt protector spot because... there's no more Tim Tebow in Denver.
I even looked back at Horse Tracks from one year ago, today. HERE IS THE LINK. How exciting was that time? We had a ton of stuff to talk about.
Here's an interesting note for you guys. Last year, I got bored one day and started to write a KB Rant (go figure). This particular KB Rant was titled "For Tim Tebow, No News Is Good News" and it talked about how when the media stops talking about Tim Tebow winning a game for the Broncos, that will be the best news ever posted on MHR. I saved it in my drafts in hopes that that one special week would come.
When he was traded, I deleted that post.
Talk about a waste of time. Wringing our hands and gnashing our teeth got us nowhere in the Tim Tebow era. Just a few myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) and some injured dogs (from being kicked in frustration).
I'll trade a boring team that wins over an exciting team that loses, every time.
Boring is Here, Special Will Come
So, for the multitude of people out there wondering where all the MHR editorials are... here's one. The article about nothing. We're right on schedule, in my opinion. I said before the season that if we won 3 games by the bye week, we were good to go... We're still on pace to do that. Like clockwork, folks. Like clockwork.
Are we not entertained, though? We're almost completely through the biggest storm on our schedule and we're not dead in the water.
The season will become special, folks. It may not seem that way, right now, but the Broncos have a chance to take the division lead this week with a win over the San Diego Chargers.
We could be the most boring division leaders in football. So be it.
