The Denver Broncos announced today that have signed Linebacker Mike Mohamed, Wide Receiver Bert Reed and Offensive Tackle Darrion Weems to their practice squad, Guard Adam Grant was released from the Practice Squad.
Mohamed is a second-year player who saw action in Denver’s contest against Oakland last week in addition to two games for the Broncos as a rookie last season. After being selected by the club in the sixth round (189th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft from the University of California, he spent nine weeks on Denver’s Practice Squad and seven total weeks on the team’s Active roster.
Reed (5-10, 180 lbs) is a rookie Wide Receiver from Florida State University who was signed by Cleveland as a College Free Agent and played three games for the Browns during the preseason (5 rec., 62 yds.). He also had a brief stint on Tampa Bay’s Practice Squad earlier this season.
A four-year letterman for the Seminoles, Reed finished his collegiate career ranked fourth in school history in receptions (170) and 12th in receiving yards (2,022). He attended Bay High School in Panama City, Fla., and was born on June 1, 1988.
Weems (6-5, 320 lbs) is a rookie Offensive Tackle from the University of Oregon who was originally signed by Minnesota on May 4. He competed with the Vikings and Patriots during Training Camp before being released and spending the first two weeks of the regular season on the Colts’ Practice Squad.
A 14-game starter for the Ducks at Left Tackle in 2011, Weems helped Oregon’s offense rank third in the nation in scoring, fifth in rushing and sixth in total offense. He attended Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif., and was born on Sept. 4, 1988.
