Remember this guy?
There has been a pretty overwhelmingly negative reaction towards DJ this offseason, and admittedly, for good reason. He jeopardized wins for the Broncos with his DUI and his illegal doping. But most people seem to want him off our team NOW. I don't see any reason for this, in fact i would say he's the third best player on our defense after Champ and Von.
What good would it do to cut/release one of the most underrated LBs in the league? This guy is a plug and play type of player and guess what? we could plug him into one of our most needed positions on the field; Middle Linebacker. Lets be honest, Woody has been playing great at WLB, and so has Danny Trevathan when he has gotten his snaps, so this makes most of you think we dont need DJ? Wrong, just plain wrong. Imagine the speed of our linebacking corps with Woody/Trev, DJ, and Von.
One more thing, i havent heard one thing out of our coaches mouths about DJ being done in Denver (correct me if i'm wrong). and i think this speaks worlds about the Broncos future plans at linebacker; they include DJ at least until his current contract runs out (2014).
Again, i get it. Most people dont think DJ is worth the hassle, and that he doesnt have a clear head on his shoulders but this is guy is a real difference maker and i believe makes us a legitimate contender this year. So keep an open mind on DJ until he gets back in action, then judge him on his play because i have a feeling a lot more people will like him when he starts doing this again.
