Monday Night Open Thread: Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears

Stay connected for news and updates

Tom Pennington

Tonight, the 1-4 Detroit Lions face the 4-1 Chicago Bears in an NFC North division battle.

Maybe it's just me, but I've enjoyed NFC North football over the past few years. I'm intrigued by the reunion of Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall. I also have strong urges to root for Calvin Johnson for the simple reason that he always seems to be the sole Detroit Lion who brings it every week.

Can you believe that Calvin Johnson leads the league in yards per game and only has 1 touchdown reception, thus far?

To me, that's an outstanding statistic. For as big and fast as this guy is, it's unbelievable to me that he doesn't have 5 or 6 touchdowns by now. That statistic probably has some serious influence on the Lions 1-4 record.

Anyways, the game is set to begin. Use the comment section as an open thread to talk about the game or the upcoming Broncos/Saints game or even discuss how terrible the NFL Network Thursday Night Football and NBC's Sunday Night Football songs are....

You know... normal conversation stuff.
