October 27, 2002 - On this day, Denver QB Brian Griese led the Broncos to a 24-16 win over the New England Patriots. This win evened Griese’s record against the Patriots at 2-2. An interesting footnote to this rivalry is that this win also gave Griese a 2-0 record against the Tom Brady-led Patriots. Griese had also led Denver to a 31-20 win in 2001 -- Brady’s first season as the starter (he had replaced an injured Drew Bledsoe beginning with the Patriots’ third game of the 2001 season).
