Where Are The Doubters Now?

Not so very long ago, there were quite a few people on this site who loudly and repeatedly doubted what the Broncos were doing this year, doubted Peyton Manning, doubted the defense. Things looked a little bleak. The team had lost every game played against high caliber opponents in maddening fashion, including a 3 INT in 3 possessions performance from Manning. Frustration had reached a high water mark. Where are the doubters now?

Speaking as one of those doubters, I'll tell you. We are on the bandwagon next to you. Anyone who spends much time on this site will know that I was against Manning coming here from the beginning, and that I predicted a major step backwards for the franchise. But I also said that I would happily eat crow if Manning proved me wrong and convinced me he was still Manning. I am here today to make good on that statement. I am here to eat a heaping helping of crow.

Truthfully, I have been on board since the San Diego game, but each game that passes reenforces in my mind that our team is becoming a team to be feared, that we are a good team on the cusp of being elite. I said in a game thread previously, and I say it here now for everyone to see, Manning has done what I said he needed to do. He has convinced me. And to top it off, our defense looks damn good. Miller is a beast, and I don't know about you, but I am loving watching Tony Carter play, watching Harris continue to look like the bargain of the year from last year, and watching Rahim Moore move towards becoming the player we were hoping for when he was drafted. And who else gets excited to see what will happen every time Trindon Holliday goes back to return a kick? When this team is clicking in all three phases, we can beat anyone in the league. I want another shot at Houston and New England. I don't want anyone else to beat them in the postseason, I want us to do it. And while we're at it, how about a rematch against the Falcons in New Orleans? It could happen. I am not saying it will, but I am saying it could.

This is an exciting time to be a Broncos fan. For the first time since 1998, I expect to watch the Broncos win when I turn on the game. I don't wonder if they will, I expect that they will, and I will be surprised if they don't. It feels good to think like that about our team again. Speaking as a former doubter, I challenge you to drink more Kool-Aid than me. I don't think you can. GO BRONCOS!!!!
