First Win Over the 49ers

November 18, 1979 - Denver played San Francisco for the third time. This marked their first win against the 49ers. Denver led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter on a 32-yard Jim Turner field goal. San Francisco outscored the Bronco 21-14 to take 21-17 lead into the locker room at halftime. The third quarter belonged entirely to Denver, as the Broncos scored touchdowns on a 5-yard run by Jon Keyworth, a 9-yard Craig Morton to Riley Odoms pass, and a 88-yard fumble return by Bob Swenson. The Broncos' defense held San Francisco to a single fourth quarter score to secure the 38-28 win.
