Today the Broncos host the Cincinnati Bengals, who were looking promising at the beginning of the season but since have dropped their last 3 games. While in retrospect, the Broncos started off with a not so promising 1-2 start and are now looking to extend their winning streak to 3 games.
By taking a brief look at the Broncos-Bengals Preview, we can see that Denver has been able to beat the Bangles 4 times in their last 5 meetings, with the last three being decided by a total of 8 points. As it stands now the general opinion of most people is that the Bangles are the underdogs and that Denver should be able to handle them fairly easy.
Cincinnati's last three loses came against Miami, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, I think that the Bengals are more of a threat than many may think. What they do worse is running the ball and defending the run, but they have a respectable passing offense and defense. Going out and turning the ball over against this team and committing too many penalties may very well possibly cause the Broncos to find themselves walking back to the locker room shaking their heads in disappointment.
But I do think that the Denver defense will be able to shut down the Bengals one-dimensional offense and that Manning and the offense will be able to find the end zone enough times to come out with a solid victory.
Keys to this game include playing with discipline by limiting penalties, creating turnovers instead of giving up turnovers, and most importantly not digging themselves into a hole in the first half and having to scratch and claw in the 2nd half just to climb out.
Prediction: Denver 31 - Cincinnati 17
