Former Bronco great John Lynch was the “color commentary” man during the Fox broadcast of Sunday’s game at Mile High, err………whatever it’s called. Although he is admittedly pro-Broncos, he started off the broadcast being as objective as he could, giving credit or calling out mistakes on both teams. However when the third quarter came around, he simply couldn’t contain himself and started damn near gushing over Peyton, Elway, and the Broncos in general. Personally I loved it as it was obvious that he felt like most of us about this team and this incredible season. Also it was great to hear such praise from someone who has both knowledge of the game and inside connections. Many thanks John for making that game even more enjoyable (although I don’t suppose Bucs fans enjoyed it much!).
My only complaint that day was that the game showing before that on NFL Sunday Package was the Bear game, which I believe was the only game in that time slot that went into OT. Thus the Bronco game was not broadcast until that game ended and I missed the first touchdown. However, I did get to see the Bears D, who were looking old and really tired, let the Seahawks just march down the field and win the game. Props to the unnamed one however, who brought the Bears back nearly the length of the field to tie the game and send it into OT in less than 15 seconds. Guy certainly does have his moments.
