Another 13-3-0 Season

December 31, 2005 - The Denver Broncos defeated the San Diego Chargers 23-7 to finish the season with a 13-3-0 record and the #2 Seed in the AFC -- behind Peyton Manning's 14-2-0 Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos finished 5-1 in the AFC West and this win over the Chargers represented a season sweep of Denver's San Diego rival.

Denver won on the strength of their rushing attack. This was a good thing given that QBs Jake Plummer and Bradlee Van Pelt combined for just 10 of 22 for 98 yards. Ron Dayne led the Broncos rushers with 64 yards while Tatum Bell added 52 and Van Pelt added 41. Bell scored three times on runs (6, 1 and 19 yards).
