SEMIFINALS ROUND TWO - Broncos best cheerleader tournament

DON'T MISS THE FINAL VOTE!!!

The final matchup will be a special 1 1/2 day vote that will take place from Saturday morning right up until the Super Bowl. Be sure to get your vote in!

Welcome back everyone. First of all, I just have to say wow. The past round was by far the most entertaining vote of the competition and I only wish both cheerleaders could have made it to the finals. Sam started off with a strong lead. She was able to go ahead of Nikki by 20 votes several times only to see it keep disappearing. Then, late in the competition, Nikki was able to come back with a 40 vote swing and flip the book on Sam. With less than 24 hours to go , Sam fought back and ended the competition in the most fitting way for these two knockouts... a tie. So, as I've said all along, in the event of a tie my vote is null and void. Thanks to all who voted and congratulations to Nikki for being the first cheerleader to make it to the final round of our tournament. Also, another big Mile High Salute to Sam for making it as far as she did. I'm still pretty stunned by the outcome, as I'm sure many of you are, but we've got to go on with the tournament.

For those of you who are new to this series, here's the usual introduction: I got the idea for this while visiting the Phinsider website. They were doing a short bracket of cheerleaders from around the league. I figured that wouldn't work for us though since we all know we have the best cheerleaders there are. So, I built bracket for the best of the best. To be fair, all entries were selected with a random number generator. It doesn't matter how you vote, but I'll be giving the information and pictures from the Broncos' website. You can base your vote on who you perceive to be the biggest fan, whose personality you like the best or plain and simple looks (of course, the info will still probably have to play a part since they're all obviously 10s of course).

So, without further adieu, I present the second round of the semifinals.

Semifinals Round Two: Antonia "Toni" Damico versus Patricia Reimann

Antonia "Toni" Damico

Toni has been a fan of football since she can remember, but she's only recently become a fan of the Broncos. This is her first season cheering for us. She's a graduate of the University of Minnesota, majoring in Communication Studies and is pursuing a modeling career .

Occupation and how does Broncos affect your work?
I am a recent college graduate pursuing my modeling career and am interested in public relations and media.

What is the most important attribute of a Denver Broncos cheerleader?
The most important attribute of a Denver Broncos cheerleader is personality. You have to not only be able to talk with fans but you also have to be able to connect with them and share your passion of being a Broncos fan with everyone you interact with.

Most memorable experience?
My most memorable experience is when I heard my number called at the final auditions at the Denver Broncos cheerleader tryouts. Making this team has been a dream of mine and when I heard my number called it was life changing.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
There are so many amazing and talented dancers who I admire but my mom is my greatest inspiration. She has been behind my the whole way helping me through everything and pushing me to be my best in whatever I do.

What is one thing about being a DBC that most people don't know?
Each year, we all have to re-audition for the team.

Best advice to kids?
Don’t settle for something you are not completely happy with. You have the ability to change and mold your life into what you want it to be.

What sports do you enjoy watching or playing?
My favorite time in the fall is Sunday football. I love watching the games with my friends and family all day! Baseball is another favorite sport of mine to watch. It’s always fun going to watch a baseball game outdoors!

What top three things do you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?
I want to travel to Australia, own my own business, and have a big family.

What do you value most in your life?
I value my family more than anything. I have an extremely close family and value them, and their love and friendship.

Place you would most like to visit and why?
I would love to go back to Italy to the town where my relatives are from.

Who do you admire most in the sports industry?
The person I admire the most in the sports industry is Joe Mauer from the Minnesota Twins. He is a hometown Minnesota guy who is an amazing baseball player.

What is the best thing about Broncos fans?
Broncos fans are the most die-hard fans out there! They are extremely passionate about the Broncos and love to be involved in anyway they can.

What book are you currently reading?
I am currently reading Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin.

In what charities or community service organizations are you most involved and why?
Back home in Minnesota I was involved with Feed my Starving Children and the Christian Life Ministry’s Foreign Mission through my church. I plan on finding a church here in Denver to continue to be involved in those programs. It is very important to me to continue in my faith and spread it on to others.

What is something about you that fans might not know?
I was born and raised in Minnesota and prior to trying out for the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders I had never been to Colorado.

What makes you laugh?
Kids always make me laugh! They are always coming up with funny random things that always put a smile on my face!

How do you challenge yourself?
I challenge myself by pursuing dreams that I have had since I was young. Becoming a professional cheerleader was a dream of mine as a little girl and by putting my mind to something and then accomplishing it is a great way to challenge and reward yourself.

How do you spend your time in the offseason?
I like to spend my time during the offseason traveling and visiting friends that I do not get to see on a regular basis.

In what area of your life have you achieved the most success?
Dance has been the most successful thing in my life. I have been dancing since i was six years old and it has led me to great things such as coaching, modeling and now professional cheer leading.

Patricia Reimann

Patricia has been a fan of the Broncos since she can remember. She was raised a bronco fan and can't imagine rooting for any other team. This is the lifelong fan's first season cheering for us. She's a graduate of CSU, majoring in Apparel and Merchandising with a minor in business and is currently working as a Sales Assistant.

Occupation and how does Broncos affect your work?
I am a full time student and work at ace hardware as a cashier and sales floor assistant. Adding Broncos into my life definitely makes my schedule packed and always busy, but I like it that way I'm not one to want to sit at home I like being out of my home being involved in whatever I can.

What is the most important attribute of a Denver Broncos cheerleader?
Being involved in the community and also giving back to it as well. There is only so much one person can do for a charity and being a part of an organization where everyone is involved and out there giving back to those who really need help is something I absolutely love about the organization. I also love being part or a team where everyone has the same passion for dance that I also have as well.

Most memorable experience?
So far ... The Broncos Bunch promotion. There was this little girl that came up to Tristan, Michelle and I and handed us a picture her brother had drawn of a cheerleader cheering at a game. It made me realize that we are role models to a lot of young kids and that brought the biggest smile to my face when they gave that picture to us ... We made them sign it later as well.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
As cliché as this sounds, my mom is definitely my greatest inspiration. She died when I was only 12 years old and she was a very successful woman who sadly died at a very young age. So whenever I say I want to do something or set a goal for myself I always am reminded of my mom and how her life ended very suddenly, and if I ever want to accomplish a goal in my life I need to work towards it every day with absolutely no regrets or telling myself I should have done something different. You only have one life and you need to make the most of it before it’s too late and your looking back saying what you should have done differently, my motto is to always look forward toward the future at what you can do instead of looking backward at what you should have done.

What is one thing about being a DBC that most people don't know?
How hard you have to work on the team. Being a DBC means carrying a Legacy on your shoulders of all the DBC’s before you. Every year the standards are higher and it takes a lot of work to meet those standards.

Best advice to kids?
Never say, "I can’t!" Because if you work hard and set your mind to achieve something you can do whatever you want!

What sports do you enjoy watching or playing?
I love watching football and basketball, and I love playing beach volley ball.

What top three things do you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?
1. Work for Ralph Lauren Corp. In New York City, Its my dream job.
2. Own my own fashion apparel boutique and open it in multiple cities
3. Have my own company where I contract out hairstylists and makeup artist for various shows and special events.

What do you value most in your life?
My family and all the people I have met and become friends with. They all play a huge role in my life and I would not be the person I am today without all the encounters I have had with my friends and family. They make me want to be the best person I can possibly be not only for myself but for them as well.

Place you would most like to visit and why?
Europe. I went to Spain after high school and my mind was blown away by the culture and the history that lies in every stone of that country. The US is so young compared to Europe and I just want to learn so much more about the different cultures there.

Who do you admire most in the sports industry?
What a magnificent show they put on for their fans. Sports would not be the same without the fans that go to every game and cheer on every team they are the ones that really bring a sporting event to life and that’s what I admire the most.

What is the best thing about Broncos fans?
They know how to bleed blue and orange especially when the raiders come to town! Not only that but they stay loyal no matter what. The broncos have had it tough the past couple of years but the fans are still there cheering them on. When things gets rough they are there to support the broncos and help them get through the season. But when the broncos are having a great season the bronco fans aren’t going to jump on the band wagon they are going to cheer on the broncos all the way to the playoffs and the super bowl if they make it!

What book are you currently reading?
Water for Elephants. Its amazing, Im really trying not to go see the movie!

In what charities or community service organizations are you most involved and why?
CSU unity. It is a community service program that goes through our school and one day during the school year all the students at CSU volunteer to help someone in the community. It’s a great program because it brings our school together as well as the whole fort Collins community.

What is something about you that fans might not know?
I am allergic to everything it seems like. Dust, nuts, sunflower seeds, dogs, cats, the list goes on and on.

What makes you laugh?
Little kids! The things they say and ask are so random and creative. Every time I have a conversation with a child under ten years old it brings a smile to my face and constant laughter.

How do you challenge yourself?
Through dance actually. I go to the studio at my school everyday and try to learn a new technical trick. I work on it everyday until it is perfect, and then I move on to another one. It keeps me motivated and always working towards achieving my personal goals and of course it make me a better dancer.

How do you spend your time in the offseason?
I have no offseason! I am constantly working on something. It is either in work, school, or dance. But when I do have free time I try and spend it with my friends and family by going on trips or just hanging out with them at concerts or parks.

In what area of your life have you achieved the most success?
In dance. I was never formally trained, except for in Irish dancing, and I had to learn a lot of technique on my own. My had work definitely paid off. I was captain of my high school dance team, danced for CSU for three years on the Golden Poms, and now I am DBC. I am very proud of everything I have achieved in my dancing carrier and could ask for anything more.

So Round Two of our semifinals brings us a battle of two fashionistas in their first year of cheering for the Broncos. They've both loved football since they can remember, but only one has been a fan of the Broncos for that long. Anyone can win at this point so make sure to let your vote count.. Once again, please feel free to add your opinions and any info you can find on these lovely ladies, and let me know if there's anything I can do to improve this series.

And I just want to say thank you again to MHR. My knowledge of football has expanded exponentially since I started coming to this site and I still find myself so far behind some of the great members here. I figured this contest would be a good way to give something back. Go Broncos!

Weird glitch

I’ve never been allowed to vote twice in a competition… Maybe that has to do with me immediately logging in on every different browser on every different computer I use…

I'm still bummed...

that what’s-her-name isn’t still in the competition. The one that Toni beat two rounds ago, her picture is almost a profile. I could see myself voting for her ahead of Patricia even.

If Patricia beats Toni, there is no justice in the world.

But either way, Nikki will win. Epic Nikki.

If 2011 is a sign of things to come, I'm going to need to start stocking up on heart medication, champagne, and wall space for Lombardi trophy banners! Go Broncos!

You have to go with the look on each face. Patricia’s is a total um, minx (or some other word), look.

by emd2k3 on Feb 1, 2012 1:01 PM MST up reply actions

I must be the odd man out.

Because it’s the look on Patricia’s face is what absolutely kills it for me. Like she’s smugly trying to cover up the fact that she is currently passing gas, or something.

But I’ve a commitment with my swettie Patricia’s smile!!!

All throughout the competition I’ve been able to cheat a bit and work ahead with reasonable assurance that I know who will be moving on after a day or two of voting… These semifinals are messing with my routine lol.

Technically, u'd just need 1 more vote for Toni
