I liked Doc Bears thoughts on Burfict this morning .
over at itsalloverfatman.com . He says Burfict does not play smart or controlled football go over and check it out it was a nice and insightful read.
That's why he has to be taught by professionals
he has the unquestioned athleticism to be a monster on the field of play (you either wake up in the morning with that… or not… it’s not something that can be taught, much like Tebow’s skill set). Now this is where it turns into a crap shoot, does he have the mental capacity to be taught the correctable things he lacks? That is the million $ question that separates beasts from busts.
If a wise old coach like Fox, Del Rio, or Smith can reach him, we could possibly have a Ray Lewis type MIKE on our team for years. Such is the gamble of the NFL draft.
"If you went to the Fair with this guy and you played that game where you have to throw the ball through the hole..... he may never get it through the hole, but he's still gonna be walking away with all the stuffed animals!" Prime's commentary on our very own Tim Tebow!!!
"As iron sharpens iron, so will one man sharpen another." The Bible, by way of Tim Tebow.
"If I had to choose between an abundance of football intelligence, or football wisdom, I'd choose wisdom every single time...... John Fox has enough football wisdom to be carried in a dump truck." Me!
That's why a guy like that goes undraft a lot of times.
I would hope EFX have enough sense to stay away from a guy like this in the first 3 rds. Now if he was there in the 4th the risk isn’t near as great as earlier…Definitely a great physical athlete, but upstairs nobodies home…
Win, lose or draw, we are the Denver Broncos! 13-3 Baby!!! Until we ain't!
if
Someone gets him in round three it’ll be like getting Davis in the 6th

he's young though
I definitely wasn’t the source of infinite intelligence and wisdom I am now when I was in my early 20’s. ;-P

I'm sorry if the truth hurts
but that was the hardest story to read ever.
I did like the walking through a cornfield backwards analogy though.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

I guess you haven't read any of mine have ya...LOL
I got the gist of the story though…

Paragraphs man, please
Von Miller put Cowherd in his place this morning saying that he trusted Tebow more than anybody else when the game is on the line. That’s a pretty big compliment from a badass rookie. Tebow will be great.

Heck yes it was
not only him, but Dawkins, Champ, Haggan… a lot of our vets hail Tebow as “their” guy.

haha
Well before I got the boot formatting was different. IAOFM is a joke and I was at all the home games he is a wild man, but just like footwork, decision making can be coached. But hey i just don’t agree on letting a game changer pass us by and I guarentee that if he does he will be Ray Lewis’s replacement and haunt us for years

good post man - paragraphs are much easier to read, but I getchya!
I haven’t followed Burfict as you have, but the Mike position is one of my faves as well (SS too). I do know he’s an animal though, and I’d be fine taking a chance on that.

I wouldn't go as far as say IAOFM is a 'joke' per say, but they have their moments and Doc isn't one of them...
Doc is a very good analyst who is a former doctor (if that is a term) who studies lots of film and analyst of players at all the positions, not just one in particular or a master of any. I know that he puts a lot of time and effort into his work and was one of rh bright spots over here until they ventured off to do their own site. I’ve been banned from their site, but I have nothing really bad to say about them in general, because, afterall their agenda is the same as mine…Denver Broncos.

I would love Burfict!!!
I agree, I think the MLB makes the defense go and we have had a big whole since Wilson left. The dude will learn and mature. I am not to worried about his character. Every body is worried about but look at Ray Lewis, he was somehow connected to a murder. (don’t remember exact details but I know he was involved in something to with a murder) now everyone talks about how great and what a leader he is. If Burfict is on the board we are stupid if we don’t take him. We already have a Fletcher Cox on the team, he wears #98.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Ive been saying i wanted us to take Burflict in the 1st round all offseason so far…if we think he will drop far enough, then trade our 1st round pick for a 2nd and a third and pick him up there and fill more needs (ie. Defensive Tackle or Corner). Think about how ridiculous of an upgrade Vontaze Burflict and Janoris Jenkins would be! if we play our cards right it could happen!
Like I've said elsewhere, I wouldn't be hurt if EFX drafted Burfict...
If they figure they can channel his mental aspect of the game then alrighty then.

I dont know doc..
I wasn’t implying that he or his writing is a joke. I think their agenda is….im sure he is terrific at what he does, but he is wrong and I just hope it isn’t the Ravens that prove it
by TRUTH_HURTS on Feb 1, 2012 6:58 PM MST via mobile reply actions
From what I saw
PRO: He attacks the line of scrimmage(would make him a good run stopper and maybe a sack specialist too) He is VERY quick, and keeps playing to the ball.
CON: He also seems to enjoy hitting but NOT tackling. He is a little dirty too. His attitude IS a problem. That can be like a Randy Moss/ Ray Lewis thing where everyone wishes they took the chance. Or it could be a Tony mandrich/Ryan Leaf thing where everyone is glad they passed.
All in all I wouldn’t mind drafting him in 2nd or 3rd.
That list is not very long.
The Cowboys (Aikman) and Colts (Manning). Both were #2s.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
