Off-Season Opinion Piece Snapshot

Every day, like most of you, I search the web for Bronco (and NFL) news...and every day I have an evolved opinion of what the Broncos need to address this off-season.

I realize much is yet to happen, and many twists and turns lay ahead for the Broncos (and NFL) this off-season; however, as of right now, this is how I feel about a few things Bronco... Re-Sign: Prater (Franchise if necessary) Royal (we need receiver depth, especially a team-first guy who knows the system and can be a threat on Special Teams) Bunkley (you already know) Thomas (needed depth at DT) Woodyard (needed quality depth, ST ace, Captain & high-character teammate) Dawkins (if healthy, provides unparalleled leadership, character & energy) Fells (we need a veteran TE to provide cover during Thomas & Green's development) FA: Aggressively pursue Brandon Carr; I can only imagine him and Champ (with Harris and Squid) Sincerely check out Dixon & Young as possible back-ups to Tebow...maybe Garrad too. Kick the tires on some veteran possesion receivers, someone like Jabar Gaffney... Take the plunge, and sign another veteran Safety as insurance against Dawkin's absence...Rahim Moore deserves another year before we should consider drafting his replacement, so him and Bruton offer good depth this year behind Carter & ________. Draft: RB, DT, CB, OL, DE, WR, LB Too many variables, and not enough knowledge (on my part) to target names, rounds, etc. Instead, I see those as positions of need (right now), that may need addressing outside of Free Agency. Pray/Hope: Julius Thomas & Virgil Green develop into players that can consistently contribute both in blocking and receiving. Irving is ready to take starting gig from Mays...please... Tebow continues to improve his footwork and accuracy. Knowshon is either dropped, or stays healthy. Champ has another year left in him...not jus his body, but his resolve to compete and be patient with a young team (and offense in particular). Beadles, Walton & Moore become roommates at the gym with Tebow for the off-season. I consider our win against the Steelers this year (play-offs) as our mini Superbowl...that win was huge for our players, organization and fanbase. You have to walk before you run...No reason to think we can't be competitive again this year, if not more so. Here's to a progressive off-season. Cheers.
