Around SBN: So Let's Talk About Hulk Too, I Suppose

Position Review: OL

Currently Denver's Offensive Line has 9 players. The amount needed per team is 11. We have two long snappers, so we actually need 3 more Offensive Linemen.

Here is our current list of Offensive Linemen:

LT Ryan Clady

LG Zane Beadles

C J.D. Walton

C Manny Ramirez

RG C.J. Davis

RT Orlando Franklin

RT Tony Hills

LS Lonie Paxton

LS David Binn

Remember Chris Kuper is injured

Here is how I would adress our Offensive Line this offseason:

Re-sign:

LT Chris Clark

Sign:

RG Geoff Hangartner

So that when Chris Kuper is healthy again this will be our starting Offensive Line:

LT

1. Orlando Franklin

2. Chris Clark

LG

1. Geoff Hangartner

2. C.J. Davis

C

1. J.D. Walton

2. Manny Ramirez

RG

1. Chris Kuper

2. Zane Beadles

RT

1. Ryan Clady

2. Tony Hills

LS

1. Lonie Paxton

Yeap, he is on the roster for 2012, at least fighting for a final spot.

This signature was sacked by Von Miller.

Injury Prone. If he doesnt get injured in the pre season then I guess he should be kept. but thats not very good odds.

Binn was emergency only guy.

What fans must always remember with every position is anyone drafted before last year is not a Fox guy. Therefore if their play is not productive in his eyes their job is in jeopardy. Upgrades could be made on the OL with FAs, trades and the draft. I have no idea what the behind the scenes continuity is with the OL. If Walton and Beadles don’t gel with the others though they may be gone. Who knows?

Although Walton is pretty good at getting to the second level on runs

He really tends to get decimated by powerful quick DTs. If we can upgrade the center position we’ll see a huge improvement in Beadles play. Another great thing about Beadles is he can move outside in a pinch.

I would like to see the same o-line again.

I’d let them continue to develope. It’s still a young team and I thought Beadles and Walton improved from year one to year two. Yeah I know pro football rated them as the worst in their position, but to me, it’s hard to measure stats for o-linemen. From what I saw from both of those guys, they improved. There were times where Walton was just man handling guys. I remember the raiders game—the second game— where he dominated that game which was impressive considering he got owned the first game of the year. Same can be said about Beadles. Those guys had some good games. However, since their young, they did have some bad games. A lot of people seem to forget it was only their second year in the league—with no offseason by the way. I want to see what they’ll look like with a full offseason. The same goes to Frankln. This a young o-line and to me, they’ll only get better. Also I have to add in the chiefs game. Yeah the chiefs d-line might not be that good, but man did the broncos own them in the trenches. Same can be said about the chargers game as well. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited to watch these guys continue to develope.

The only thing I would do is bring in depth. That’s all that really needs to be done to the o-line. Maybe sign a veteran for insurance in case Kuper is slow to get back.

I'd like to see the same OL again too.. At least for 1 more year.

The guys deserve it. Then we can evaluate where to improve and how Beadles, Walton and Franklin improved, the contract Clady deserves, where we would need more depth, etc.

Franklin at LT???

Clady at RT???

"If you went to the Fair with this guy and you played that game where you have to throw the ball through the hole..... he may never get it through the hole, but he's still gonna be walking away with all the stuffed animals!" Prime's commentary on our very own Tim Tebow!!!

"As iron sharpens iron, so will one man sharpen another." The Bible, by way of Tim Tebow.

"If I had to choose between an abundance of football intelligence, or football wisdom, I'd choose wisdom every single time...... John Fox has enough football wisdom to be carried in a dump truck." Me!

Maybe he suggested it because Tebow is left-handed

But I don’t think this change would work.

I see...

but I don’t think it would work either. The pass pro was fine for the most part of Tebow’s starts (minus a couple terrible games… and some of that was def on Tebow).

But the way our o-line is set up

we lose a TE as a receiving option for Tebow. Because he’s over on the blind side helping Franklin. Every other team in the league has that blocking TE in the sights of their QB so the QB can see the rush develop and use the TE as an outlet if WR’s aren’t open.

That said

I don’t think merely switching tackle sides will work. Teams with lefty QB’s have to bite the bullet and actually get two solid pass protect tackles to anchor each side of their line. Some teams – New Orleans, Houston, etc – do that anyway because it gives an offense lots of options.
