Pre-Combine Mock
Wanted to do a quick mock draft before the combine and free agency. Since the Chiefs signed Routt, the possibility of the Broncos nabbing Brandon Carr has increased immensely. While I've been quite public of my dislike of a possible Dan Connor signing, if Mays isn't brought back, and he comes cheap, I wouldn't be too upset if we brought him in for depth. But by bringing Connor in, I hope EFX wouldn't leave the position alone. I'd imagine EFX does what's right and brings Bunkley back and probably Woodyard. Doubt we have a shot at Super Mario Williams. And if Dawk retires, how do you ignore that there's a freak safety available via free agency?
CAN WE FIND THIS GUY A BIGGER SHIRT?
We add Brandon Carr and LaRon Landry as the big named FAs.

Thanks.
Yeah I honestly thought we had no chance to sign him because I figured the Chiefs realized how good he was… there loss hopefully becomes our benefit!

I think you need to switch Irving and Worthy.
Irving could go as high as late 1st round to early 2nd round. Worthy could slipe into the 3rd round very easily. I like adding both Carr and Laundry. Both are young, up and coming players that give us a probably the best secondry when healthy.
CB: Champ, Carr, Harris, Hosley, and Syd’Quan/Vaughn.
FS: Laundry, and Moore
SS: Carter, and Bush/Bruton.
I think with the 2nd-2nd round pick you could add Martin. If we are bringing back Woody, and signing Connor, then why are we also adding another LBer in the 2nd round. I could see a late rounder, but last year we drafted 3 LBers who could prove depth. Adding to backs would be nice, we need the upgrade there.
IMO we are adding: QB-2; RB-2; FB-1; WR-2/3; TE-1; OL-1/2; DE-2/3; DT-2/3; OLB-1; MLB-1; CB-2; S-1/2 and resigning both Prater and Colquitt. This includes our own FA’s, other FA’s and the draft.
Landry's obviously an injury risk
But for the right contract (probably short term) Denver’s in a good place to take a punt with three young safeties on the roster. Worse case, they have to blood a young guy like Bruton or Moore.
But I love the idea. It’s worth the risk in my book. I also have a sneaking suspicion that David is on the Bronco’s radar. He was one of their early interviews at the Senior Bowl and I recall last year, so was this linebacker called Von Miller. It makes sense too as our pass coverage from our linebackers was average at best. I think David could be a great nickel linebacker and potentially our go to guy for Tight End coverage (where we’ve struggled for years).
Also I love the trade back concept. Nice mock.

David..
Fits Fox’s LBer mold. Very athletic and had a ton of impact plays for Nebraska. A ton of production.

Landry
Haha,I saw those pictures of him last night and thought, Oh My God! He’s ridiculously huge, especially for a safety. Maybe he should focus on his tendons and ligaments instead if his biceps and pecs.

Russell Wilson....
Love the idea of him being drafted by both the Rockies and Broncos….would make for a great trivia question.
Hahaha...
That is a very interesting sentiment. Never thought of it that way
