NFL free agency opens up Tuesday, March 13 at 4pm.
Not sure if we can resign our own before that or not.
All I know is that a RFA’s are eligible for restricted free agency, whereby his current team has the chance to retain rights to this player by matching the highest offer any other NFL franchise might make to that player. The club can either block a signing or, in essence, force a trade by offering a salary over a certain threshold. URFA’s are eligible for unrestricted free agency, whereby his current team has no guaranteed right to match outside offers to that player. This means that players in this category have unlimited rights to negotiate any terms with any team.
So in regards to players who are interested in testing the market, there probably wont be much activity until March 13, unless the team is dead set on locking someone down.
I am Legion, for we are many.
We can resign/renegotiate with any player we have under contract at any time we want
we can also sign current UFA’s whenever we want. March 13th is the official end of the season and that is when players who had one year left on their contract’s, see their contract’s expire and become UFA’s.
And now for something completely different

Yes
and EFX said they would be negotiating with our guys once they got back from the Senior Bowl which I think was last Saturday. If any deals are worked out for our guys to stay in Denver or other teams FAs to stay with their team it could happen any time now. I have not seen anything yet though.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Thanks all! I thought we could resign guys on our roster now.
Maybe its a bad assumption but I would think guys we really want to keep we won’t let it go until the 13th. Like Prater.

I think that is the plan Thorpe.
I’d bet my life’s savings that they are talking contracts with Prater, Bunkley, Thomas, Woodyard, Royal, ect. off and on for the last week already. We should see teams locking players up to deals soon after the SB.

I think so too, and we should see something this week...
I’m sure the staff has been working feverously with new capologist Mike Sullivan getting him up to stuff on team details…
