I am not down on Tebow, quite like the guy but assuming we land Manning and ship Tebow ... here is my lazy prediction of the rest of our offseason

Acquire: Peyton Manning

Trade: Tim Tebow to Jacksonville for a 2nd

Acquire: Dallas Clark

Acquire: Jeff Saturday

The above changes handle a few things we have needs on:

1. 3rd down conversions increase dramatically.

2. Puts our defense into a play from ahead scenario more often than it has.

3. Keeps our improving D rested.

4. Forces defenses to be honest.

Manning will make our line better at pass protection due to his decision making and offer some nightmare scenarios for defensive coordinators on defend the run/defend the pass. (Admittedly, our rushing totals will drop).

Assuming we sign no other free agents other than resigning Bunkley.

Draft:

1. Best pass rushing DT

2(#1). Cornerback

2 (#2). MLB

3. OLB since we might lose DJ for 6 games

4. -7 Depth and upside players

I am kinda surprised by our pursuit of Manning since I always felt we had 3 years for Elway to make a contender but I do see the sense in getting a top 5 QB if you can since superbowls are commonly won by top 5 QBs.

This offseason suggests we are taking a swing at the fences while not giving up our build through the draft strategy. But I have to say, wow if this falls the way it's looking .... we could be a real contender this or next year depending on the maturation of our young players.
