Four Great People and Coaches

I've been wanting to tell the MHR community about this for a while now, but just haven't gotten around to it. Gary Kubiak, Ken Whisenhunt, Jim Mora, Sr., and Jim Mora, Jr. visited my outpost (COB Speicher near Tikrit) in Iraq last summer. I escorted them for about an hour. I really can't say enough good things about them. They were great. All four of them were terrific, genuine. people. You could tell that they were truly impressed and humbled by the sacrifice that so many Americans have been making over there for a long time. Of course, I really wanted to talk to Kubiak, but I spent most of my time talking to Jim Mora, Sr. He had been a USMC officer in the 1950s and understood how the military works. Because I was the senior officer, he wanted to talk to me. I ended up talking to him for about an 45 minutes. He has taken really good care of himself and was very interested in everything we had to tell him. All four were great, but I was particularly impressed with Ken Whisenhunt. If Denver is ever looking for a head coach, and he is available, I would be very happy if we hired him. As far as Kubiak goes, you could tell that we were lucky to have such a special backup QB, QB coach, and offensive coordinator for so many years. He gave me a Houston Texans coin, and of course, like many Colorado natives/Bronco fans I cheer for Houston because of Kubiak.
