The Denver Broncos made another free agent splash on Friday with former CSU Ram and recent Houston Texans tight end Joel Dreessen saying is is going to sign with the Denver Broncos. This according to John McClain who covers the Texans for the Houston Chronicle.

Dreesen, 29, is heading into his seventh NFL season. His first year, 2005, was spent with the New York Jets and after a year away from football caught on with the Houston Texans where he became a pass-catching threat behind Owen Daniels.

According to McClain, the Texans made a late run at keeping Dreessen, but after sleeping on it decided on Denver this morning.

In 2011, Dreessen caught 28 passes for 353 yards and 6 touchdowns. He caught 36 passes and 4 touchdowns in 2010. With Peyton Manning at quarterback, the Broncos may not be done looking for tight ends. Former Colts TE Jacob Tamme visited the Broncos this week and could still be on the team's radar.
