Round 1, Pick 25 (25th overall) Dont'a Hightower, ILB, Alabama: I know everyone is screaming for a DT here, but I think that EFX goes BPA regardless of need at that position. I also believe that if Hightower gets past Pitt at 24 this has to be the pick for value purposes alone. This kid is a in the box type of player who is very stout against the run and posseses 4.6 speed. I believe that he comes in and starts from day 1.
Round 2, Pick 25 (57th overall)Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State: Every year draft picks rise and fall on draft day. Many here have us taking Worthy in the 1st but my take is once the first round has been completed their will be a run on OL,DB,and WR's. So I think Worthy gets lost in the shuffle and we steal him at 57. Worthy looks like he would be best as a one-gap penetrator in a 4-3 defense. Thats right up our alley because we need someone to push the pocket and stop QB's from stepping up.
Round 3, Pick 25 (87th overall)Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State: This is a running back that I am slowly getting on board with. He has great size and speed and can provide McGahee with the rest he needs throughout the season. If Willis goes down for any extended period of time this kid will fill in nicely. The only problem I have with Turbin is he has somewhat of a upright running style in the film that I have seen. But with a little coaching that can be rectified.
Round 4, Pick 25 (120th overall)Jaye Howard, DT, Florida: This kid is a freak and with a little development could be a steal in the 4th round. Plus I have heard through the grapevine that Xanders is high on him.
Round 5, Pick 2 (137th overall) — From St. Louis Rams Michael Brewster, C, Ohio State : This is purely a depth move with the chance of becoming much more. Lets face it Walton wasn't the best center in the world last year. Adding some competion for him would not be the worst idea.
Round 6, Pick 18 (188th overall) — From New York Jets B.J. Coleman, QB, UT-Chattanooga : You guys might hate this pick but I really do believe that EFX will target a QB this year and why not get one who really has tried to model himself after Peyton. If you don't know what i'm talking about read up on him. I read somewhere that while at the Univ. of Tenn before he transfered he would watch film of Peyton and try to mimic everything from throwing motion to footwork. Couldn't hurt to use a late rounder on this guy..
Well there you have guys flame away.
