Report: Broncos Will Use Franchise Tag on Kicker Matt Prater

The Denver Broncos will use their franchise tag on kicker Matt Prater Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter:

Prater was one of the best kickers in the league in 2011, and came up with some really clutch kicks for the Broncos in their playoff run. The two sides were apparently unable to come to a long term agreement with Prater even though both parties want the kicker in Denver long-term. Hopefully the franchise tag is just a bridge in the gap to Prater's long-term deal.
