With the 28th pick in the 2012 MHR Community Mock Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
Courtney Upshaw, Linebacker, Alabama
Packers' GM: Bronco Rob
GM Explanation: The Packers got torched by many QB's last year so I would address the problem with a good pass rusher to complement Clay Matthews. I think that the best pick would be Mark Barron but he is already taken.
(Editor's note: Rob was unavailable to give a full explanation, but he gave me a board of players to pick from and this was BPA.)
Commissioner's analysis: This would be absolutely highway robbery for the Packers in the first round. Courtney Upshaw has no business being on the board at this point, and not only would they be getting a great complement to Clay Mathews at this point in the draft, they'd be getting a guy whom I believe has top 10-15 talent. Upshaw has a relentless motor, and while he's not an elite pass rusher like Von Miller, he's going to disrupt a lot of plays at the next level. This is a great pickup for the Pack.
