Derek Wolfe was kind of a surprise pick because Jerel Worthy was rated higher but he has similar stats to
the other top Defensive tackles.
Wolfe is 6ft 5in and 295 pounds and played for Cincinnati. Wolfe has been clocked as fast as 4.94 in the
40.
Last season he had 70 tackles 21.5 for losses, and 9.5 sacks. He should be a good DT project for
Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio to work with.
Denver's draft strategy seems to be similar to the Seahawks and Rams where they are drafting players
that are rated high by their own scouting departments rather than Espn or NFL.com. Although, Espn's Mel Kiper
did evaluate Wolfe as having first round potential.
