Every year it seems that there is a player hyped up in training camp and the pre season, only to disappear when the regular season lights come on.
This year it seems to be Sealver Sigla. I hope he is improved as advertised. I recall Mario Fannin being super-hyped last year. Injuries happen. Wesley Duke comes to mind. I remember Brandon Browner too. He's finally living up to his potential in Seattle. How good is our player development? Every year there are undrafted players who make a signifigant impact on their teams success. When will Denver start to benefit from its practice squad? I don't expect us to find the next Victor Cruz, But if our players rarely go from practice squad to contributors, where does the blame lie? Coaching or Scouting, or both? The PS is the NFL's mini farm system, and i haven't been impressed with the crops we've cultivated. Have you? I think we do good finding undrafted players who make the 53 man roster, but im talking about IMPROVING players, not a guy who shows up with more tools than originally expected, ala Chris Harris. I hope Julius Thomas breaks out and shows me the coaches CAN develop playes.
