MHR Predictions: The Broncos 1st Round of Cuts

Stay connected for news and updates

DENVER, CO - AUGUST 18: Punt returner Tony Carter #32 of the Denver Broncos reacts after dropping a punt that resulted in the ball bend downed at the half yard line during the third quarter against the Seattle Seahawks at Sports Authority Field Field at Mile High on August 18, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. So with the first round of cuts coming up after this weekend, the Denver Broncos have to reduce their roster from 90 players to 75. There has been a lot of discussion on the front page as well as among the members on Mile High Report about who these should be, we've seen a lot of depth charts and discussed some of the key position battles.

So today I'll be listing my 15 players that will be cut along with giving some of the staffers cuts as well. Feel free to make your own list and put it in a comment.

WR Cameron Kenny: Kenny was buried on the depth chart, and I haven't seen him do anything in the preseason, or heard his name called in Camp reports.

S Anthony Perkins: Perkins was brought in for depth, and now that Leonhard and Carter are healthy, I doubt he sticks.

CB Ramzee Robinson: Robinson is pretty low on the depth chart and it seems like Tony Carter and possibly Syd'Quan Thompson may be ahead of him.

LS Aaron Brewer: Brewer goes because, why do you need to carry an extra long snapper?

RB Xavier Omon: Now my first controversial cut, I think either Omon, or Johnson don't make it, I went with Omon. Johnson, who likely doesn't make the roster either, has more upside. Either or both could go though.

TE Anthony Miller: Miller also probably gets cut, I really haven't heard his name called throughout camp or the preseason, and he probably is on the bottom of the list on the depth chart.

OT Mike Remmers: Remmers probably doesn't make the cut. The entire 2nd and 3rd string OL hasn't looked good. Honestly I haven't seen him or paid attention to him in the games, so I can't honestly say how he has looked. But I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of the cuts

DT Ben Garland: Garland is a nice story, but I don't think he makes it through the first cuts. He is a practice squad candidate I believe

S Duke Ihenacho: Duke was one of my favorite UDFA we signed, however with Carter and Leonhard now healthy, the safety position is deep. I don't see him making it, but he is also a PS candidate

OLB Keith Brooking: Brooking is probably another controversial cut. He hasn't practiced since he has signed. I wasn't a huge fan of the signing in the first place, so i may be a bit biased here, but i think we should move on.

OLB Eliot Coffey: Coffey probably is another odd man out at the LB spot. I haven't seen him make plays like fellow rookies Steven Johnson and Jerry Franklin.

DE Cyril Obiozor: Obiozor was a tough one for me. He has looked decent at times, but I think DE Jamie Blatnick has looked better than him, but what do I know. Either, or both could go.

OG Wayne Tribue: Like with Remmers, I can't really say how he has looked because I really didn't pay attention to certain players along the OL. All I know the 2nd and 3rd team OL's didn't look good, so a couple of the UDFA's that we signed may go.

Well there are a few thoughts to get started, so let us know your list.
