The Denver Broncos announced their personnel cuts this afternoon as they meet the league's mandatory 75-man roster limit by the 4:00 pm ET deadline.
There were very few surprises.
The first move of the day, was to place DE Jason Hunter on Injured Reserve. That brought the roster to 87 players.

Players Cut:
- LS Lonie Paxton
- Linebacker
- Wide receiver
- Wide receiver
- Tight end
- Defensive end
- Running back
- Safety
- Tackle
- Cornerback
- Fullback
- Guard
Thoughts:
- Paxton is possibly the biggest surprise here, due to him being one of the most reliable long sanppers in the NFL, but due to his age, the Broncos must have felt more comfortable with Aaron Brewer.
- The trimming of the skill positions has begun with the release of:
2 HB
2 WR
1 TE
2 DB
- The Broncos only released four lineman (2 offensive, 1 defensive, 1 special teams)
- There are still a number of deep positions that will see a lot of trimming by this weekend, those include cornerback, wide receiver and defensive tackle.
- For those who'd like, you can go back and look to see how some of the staffers and members did at predicting these releases here.
- The next round of cuts are due on Friday by 7:00 PM ET when the Broncos will need to cut down their roster to the final 53 by cutting/waiving/etc 22 players down from 75.
