Hear me out. I love what Decker and Thomas bring, and they are clear #1 and #2 receivers. Stokely is our slot guy, but after him - and maybe it's just me - but I don't have a ton of confidence in Hill, Willis, or any of our other guys. If Decker or Thomas goes down, we're in a world of trouble.

I guess my fantasy football league got me thinking about how to rectify the situation. I don't see any trades on the horizon, but I do have ONE clear wideout I would target, and get him fast through Free Agency. Hint - it ain't Terrell Owens.

Plaxico Burress.

Yes, the guy who shot himself in the leg. Yes, the former "primadonna". He did well with the Jets when he returned, and I imagine his prison time gave him a different perspective on the game. He probably appreciates and respects the game much more now, and will carry himself well on the field.

What does he bring? Size, experience, the ability to get open (especially if he's not the #1 option). He would bring veteran leadership to this young group, along with Stokely, and I think he would be a perfect fit for Manning in the spread. He has good hands and while he may be the butt of a few jokes, I don't see him being a locker room cancer with guys like Champ, Peyton, and Von around. I think he'd be happy to have another shot, even as a backup.

What do you think? I would guess we can get him for a one year deal very cheap. I'd personally like to see him on this squad.
