Madden Predictions, Week 3

Ok, so I just have one question in reaction to last week. Who forced Peyton to switch bodies with Jay Cutler in the first quarter Monday night? That opening quarter was hideous and painful from an offensive perspective. Thank God for a defense that was able to keep the score low enough that we got close at the end. Anyway, one ugly game does not the end of the season make. Just look at some of the teams that have started badly and gone on to win Super Bowls in the last few years. Hope springs eternal my friends.

Now lets take a look at the results from the two games so far.

Madden Predictions, 2012, Week 1:

Play-through: Pittsburgh 27, Denver 24

Sim Average: Denver 21, Pittsburgh 18

Actual Result: Denver 31, Pittsburgh19

Madden Predictions, 2012, Week 2:

Play-through: Denver 28, Atlanta 21

Sim Average: Atlanta 23, Denver 21

Actual Result: Atlanta 27, Denver 21

Madden Play-through accuracy: 0-2

And now here are this weeks predictions. For those of you who have not read this series before, I play through each weeks game once in control of the Broncos. In addition to this, I also sim the game. I do a total of 5 sims each week to obtain a decent sample size. Here are the results of the play through.

Final Score: Denver 20, Houston 0

This game started as a defensive struggle in the first half, with the Broncos leading at half-time 3-0. After the break however, Manning finally got on the same page with the receivers, the running game began to be effective and the defense continued their dominance from the first half.

And now here are the results of this week's sims.

Sim 1: Houston 31, Denver 12

Sim 2: Houston 21, Denver 13

Sim 3: Houston 31, Denver 19

Sim 4: Houston 20, Denver 6

Sim 5: Houston 34, Denver 9

Sim average: Houston 27, Denver 12

We can only hope that our boys make the play-through result happen, not any of the sims, because yikes, that is a whole lot of ugly there. Additionally, I would love for our defense to make a statement and shut somebody out... might as well be the Texans.

Here's hoping Manning gets his head right after last week's disaster. As Von Miller said earlier this year, our defense is built to play with a lead, so lets go out there and get them one Peyton! Other than that, all I can say is 18-1 until we ain't! GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!
