I've been completely underwhelmed by our TE play after 3 games. At best Dreesen is average and Tamme is a cut below that. Both have had drops and both exhibit a tendency to wait for the ball to come for them. It's like watching white men can't jump... there is not enough want in the air to fight for what's their's.
I still believe Julius Thomas is gonna be our guy. I saw him make some lights out vertical plays in the preseason last year and I just can't forget that. Stood next to him in pre-game today and he is much bigger and a little taller than Tamme & Dreesen.
If the O-line is going to collapse like they did against Houston today PM is going to need a jump ball receiver across the middle.
While I'm at it I was impressed with the play of Rahim Moore and Chris Harris (as usual). Manny Ramirez on the O-line is a matador. Stokely is doing the man's work across the middle and is getting pounded (where's the Advil). Decker and Thomas are still inconsistent... Decker is more of a concern at this point.
Defense settled down, PM and his receivers were 180 degrees out of phase until the 4th quarter. Some time in the pocket would be super duper.
Officiating was as bad as last week. Terribly inconsistent calls/non-calls on illegal contact down field.
