On a recent trip to the East Coast I was listening to a local sports talk show and picked up on this bit they call

"The Shovel of Wisdom".

Some of you from that area or that may have passed through might be familiar with it but for those that are not, it's pretty simple. It's an open forum for dishing out an "I told you so" or "what the heck were you thinking" or "come on on man" or "what the heck happened" to a football player, a team, a friend, a coach, a ref, an athlete, a non-athlete, a MHR blogger or whoever you think deserves a Shovel for a bone headed action or comment.

It could go like this.

"I'd like to give My Shovel of wisdom to the replacement refs for blowing that PI call".

"My Shovel goes to JDR for a horrible game plan to stop the Texans".

"My Shovel of wisdom goes to Michael Turner for doing 92 m/h while intoxicated at 4am"

"I have to give a shovel to my dog for chewing up my Craig Morton autographed Broncos hat"

"Tim Tebow and his handlers get my shovel for insisting he do every advert with his shirt off"

"My shovel of wisdom goes to those betting against the Arizona Cardinals"

You get the idea, so feel free to start using that rusty ol'shovel.
