"it's not the team that starts the race. it's the team that forms as the race goes on."

i'm misquoting dallas seavey, 2012 iditarod champion. aside; if you haven't turned on to the iditarod, btw, tune in next march -- it is the best and most exciting sporting event we have. other than our broncos! which brings me back on topic. it's a long, grueling season. so much can go wrong, and with this team, so much is still unknown. our ceiling is high, but our floor is low. but here's what i like about this team; we have a good mix of vets and youth, we have good character and good leadership and we're finally all back on the same page in terms of what we're doing and where we're going. there's hope, quiet confidence. you hear it from the f.o., the coaches, the players. i feel it. this team hasn't formed yet. it will. we've got leaders -- champ, peyton, more -- and we've got young guys just scratching the surface of their talent -- demaryius, von, more -- and we've got depth. this team hasn't gelled yet, but it will. and there's something powerful about a team coming together as the season progresses. confidence, optimism, belief. it's the team that forms as the race goes on. and the team that our team can form during this season, with a little luck and good health, well, i don't want to jinx it. but it could be something special. so here's to a good season. go broncos!
