At the end of the year Bailey needs to step back into the safety role especially if Denver wins a superbowl. With an apparently soft schedule next year we should start grooming a potentially elite CB either off of our current roster or from FA or the 2013 draft class. Chris Harris has shown his value is real this year but I am still skeptical of Tony Carter hes speedy and sticky but hes small and not physical. Omar Bolden look like hes got potential but has seen much time on defense. I think we should show Tony the door and get serious, he has overachieved our expectations but he isn't the best option. With Tracy Porter mostly likely headed else where and champs inevetable move to safety and the need to solidify the position with some physical cbs. Bolden did well in college before his injury and had a nice kick return for a TD in preseason but his place on this team is still unknown. If Bolden can turn into a solid starting CB then that would be fabulous but I think we need to bring in two or three CBs to battle for the job. Denver should try to bring in Tyrann Mathieu with the 32nd pick in the first round. Because of his troubles with the law he will likely tumble to the 2nd round, we should jump on the chance to get him. The bucs Aqib Talib will also be a free agent at the end of the season he would be a great addition and would fill champs spot undoubtedly. This is what I would like to see in our defensive backfield next year.
Left Conerback: Aqib Talib, Tyrann Mathieu
Right Conerback: Chris Harris, Omar Bolden,
Strong Saftey: Quentin Carter, David Bruton, (Ed Reed) *I wish
Free Safety: Champ Bailey, Rahim Moore
With this defensive backfield you get a boatload of flexibility. Champ move to CB on any given play and you could have Carter and Moore deep. Denver has had a valiant effort from their CB's but we should show Porter and Carter the door and sure up defensive backfield. What do you guys think about our defensive backfield? I think without our ferocious pass rush our dbs would get picked apart like we did alls through the 2000's. I give most credit to Von and JDR but Chris Harris has stepped up hes a gem.
